Final Fantasy VII remake

Square-Enix has finally announced that they are planning to make a Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3. I can hardly wait. There are rumors that it's going to be a launch title for the PS3. 8)

I heard about this. I thought it was dismissed as a rumour though.

Cripes, I played it when it was released in 1997 on the psx. Beat it in 3 days, enjoyed the story but hardly any replay value. Now they want blow the dust off and remake it for the PS3? I wish they would stop being so damn lazy and give us some old school plot lines like FFIV and FFVI, all the rest just pails in comparison. (FFX was pretty, but had a lame story, FFX-2 was Charlie's Angels with lots of eye-candy, FF9 was a rip-off).

Shut your blasphemous mouth. homie. FF7 beats FFIV all hollow on plot. If they remake the original FF7 and it's not one of those new ones running around then I will be one happy man.

FF7 is by far my favorite. Plot was great, no gay characters. The best CID!!! How can you not like the highwind flying, cigar smoking, dynamite throwing, ever cursing badass that he was. :P

Now i have to go buy a PS3, wasn't plannign to but this game will make me. Though i have my doubts when it comes to Square-Enix. (i miss squaresoft)

FF6 is by the far the best of the FF series I've played. Sabin's my favourite character, because of his Blitz command. Tricky to execute, but doesn't cost any MP and still deal out high damage.

As for FF7 remake, years ago, they said near the same thing for the PS2. It would be pretty damn cool if they remade it, and make it better plotwise and gameplay but not sorely on the graphics department.
