Currently Watching?

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

Dude big-0 in general is fucking ridiculous, worse mecha anime. Yeah though wierd I didn't catch the anime on adult swim earlier huh? I guess some things you hold off watching too much when you gotta wake up to fucking early in the morning and you don't live in the proper time zone, but meh. I really like it so far, up to episode 10 where jet goes after his old girl friend I think, stories not picking up too fast though, is the only thing I hate.

I haven't seen all of Inuyasha, but I hear it doesn't have much of an ending. Considering that the manga for D.Gray-man hasn't ended yet, I can see the problem with ending the anime, heh. How do you know that they've officially concluded it though, and aren't going to make anymore episodes?
Tempz wrote:hmm..I haven't noticed any other reference to fim making yet. I'm only up to episode 8. But yeah, I'm reminded more of batman than anything else. He even has the hook shooter thing and used it to stop himself from falling off a building.

Oh there's no denying that Big O is similar to Batman in a lot of ways, I think that's kind of what they were going for. When it first aired way back when on Adult Swim, I didn't like the show for that very reason, and wouldn't watch it. I ended up watching all of it a couple years back though because a friend asked me too, and actually thoroughly enjoyed it. Just keep an eye out for those moving making references, and you'll start seeing them pop up more often. ;)

Actually it's pretty good. I hated it too, but that was before I actually sat down and watched it. How much have you seen? You might actually discover that you like it if you give it a fair chance, but maybe not. *shrugs*

One thing I should mention though, is that Big O is a legitimate super robot. There's no question about that. The style of super robots are quite different from those of real robots, like Gundam. Big O is like a vision of what it would be like if Bruce Wayne owned a super robot. :P

I thought it was cool though, once I actually gave it a chance and got into it.

Well it was worse in the beginning of the anime, maybe I got used to it..
Havent seen past episode 19 yet so it might all come back again.

Anyway, didnt know that D.Gray-man was at an end. Havent the last 20 episodes yet :P

A friend told me that I should stop watching Kenshin after the Kyoto arc since it gets lost in filler land after that one.
If I want to continue with the manga after that where should I pick it up?

Just finished watching Nabari No Ou......ugh, it was gay AND boring till the very end. No one should watch that piece of crap, for their own sake.

If it was boring then how did you make the statement "Boring to the very end."?

I don't understand the question. You mean why I watched every single episode if it was so boring?
If that's what you mean, then the answer is pretty simple.
I thought it was going to take off at some point.
It never did.
Besides, I was just killing time while I downloaded the entire first season of Macross. I had always wanted to watch it, but never got around it. I hope it is as awesome as I have been told.

Clannad After Story. Good stuff so far I just don't know the direction it will go in towards the end. I wonder if Ushio will be introduced?

Yeah Im just glad that its begun once again :)

Edit: Ok have seen Kenshin up untill epsiode 62 and I must say I cant really see what the greatness of the series really is.
If you compare it too Berserk the later is about 100 times better.
There is other anime series that In my opinion is better also, havent read the Kenshin manga so Im not talking about that one.
The end really sucked;
Shishios attacks was lame. Exploding gauntlets is a samurai move? Haha whats the pride in using that kind of crap? And that he overheated himself was hilarious. If he hadnt had that problem then he would have killed them all.
Sano was annoying because he never could deliver anything. He is just like Chad in Bleach in the sense that they have power but never enough to stand on their own legs and fight.
.
When Saito showed up it became a little interesting, he was a likeable character.

I never felt the urge to see all epsiodes back to back like some anime series.
Oh well, now I have seen it atleast :P

i Just finished with "Darker Than Black".
it was somewhat odd at first but highly entertaining. i would highly reccommend it

also rewatching "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai."
its very odd but i rember likeing the series so im rewatching and still enjoying it.

after that i plan to rewatch "Soul taker" as well
i think it takes the cake for cheezy anime openings as well. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v6iXIo88ns)

i need to find something new to watch instead of rewatching things -.-

I'll probably check out more Darker than Black sometime. I watched the first episode, and liked the art style, but it was odd as you say. Good to hear it pays off more later on. I haven't been watching much anime lately, except for DBZ with my wife. It's her first time, and I'm relieving the glory days, as it were. :P

I've mainly been playing video games with my free time, heh. Though I still haven't finished Eureka 7. Not sure what I'll watch after that.

Starnum its a must see so you better do it soon :D

I´m thinking of rewatching Speed Grapher, that series was cool as I recall.

Im still following Naruto and Bleach, both series has snapped out of the filler land curse for now.
highly entertaining.
Read on Dattebayos site that they are going to stop fansubbing Naruto since some kind of website is going to show it for a small fee.
Anyone that has any info about this and if the site is going to show other anime series as well?

I recently started watching 3 different series:

Tytania, which is remarkably good. However, it lacks punch (intensity, "the juice", call it however you prefer). Its just not an exciting series.
If I were to make an analogy, I would say its like......whiskey. You drink it alone, relaxed and calm, just savoring it for what it is, not by what it makes you feel.
There are no cliff-hanger ends of episode in Tytania. If you like politics and power struggles, you are probably going to enjoy this series.

Soul Taker, which is the proud holder of the title of "weirdest first episode ever". It begins like some kind of psychedelic nightmare, with life, death, and colors (oh god, the colors.....their bizarre combination was a complete mindfuck!) mixing in ways I had never thought a sane T.V. executive would ever allow (much less fund) to hit the screens, and ends with a fight bearing disturbing resemblance with (should I use "to" instead of "with" in that phrase?) those of Saint Seiya (worst series ever). I am still not sure if I liked it or not.

Soul Eater, a series that can be described with a single word: Fuckinghilarious ( I never said it was a real word).

Im watching Soul Eater.
I really hate Souls voice, he sounds like he is somewhere between 25-40 years old which just doesnt fly with me :(
Otherwise it might turn out to be a good series, have to come back on that.

The series that has really taken of right now is Naruto, they dont drag out the fights like they used to so there is a lot going on. Better progress than Bleach has :)
The only thing that is a little disturbing is that Naruto and his comrades can take out Akatski (Or how they spell it :P) on their own.
I mean even the ones that has a demon fox inside of them didnt stand a chance and here Shikamaru takes care of one of them like it was nothing.
Its a little disapointing really because they are supposed to be so powerful and all.
.

Its nice that Major has been picked up again, love that series :D

I just finished watching Elfen Lied, and my disappointment is so fucking grumoungous (if you don't understand this word you haven't read 8-bit theatre enough) that it can barely be expressed through words. What piece of crap! This is what happens when I get my hopes up because of somebody else's rating of a series.
Every single character was either a drama queen or a complete and total wimp. or a retard. At some point I started wondering what would have happened if a single decent character, like Gutts, had been introduced in the series. He would have just sit there, laughing at how utterly stupid the whole plot was.
Man, this was such a let-down. Its even worst that that time I watched BASILISK after being told it was 10 times better than Berserk, including the manga.

To the creators of Elfen Lied:
Arrghhh......I lost 7 hours of my life and I am not getting them back!!.............Nyu, Nyu, Who is- go fuck yourself!
I can see your point there. Elfenlied is quite a bit... drama. I enjoyed it though I wouldn't take it into my top 10.

Ahaha, that would be awesome. Guts has taken a million times more shit in his life than any of the elfen lied characters. Also, yeah Basilisk kinda sucks.

On another note, I finished Monster some time ago (dunno if I posted about it already): I really really hated the ending
The whole series was about finding and killing Johan. But then of course Tenma couldn't do it. So another guy shoots him good. And then Tenma saves him, again. Meh. While I can cope with that, and see where Tenma is coming from (all life is equal), in the very end that a comatoes Johan got away through the windows just like in the beginning of the series... was too much of a cliffhanger for me.
Got Chobits for christmas, watched about half of it now, and really like it.

Chobitz was the first non-action anime I ever watched. It Rocks!
I especially liked the analogy made in the series of child's book that Chi kept reading
Started watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. So far so good. The drawing style is kind of weird, with all the female cast having the complexion of a 8 years old.

I got into Macross again from Robot Wars (the game).

So I watched Macross Frontier. The action was pretty good, the music is pretty good if you like that sort of thing (J-pop crap, not really my cup of tea but I quite liked the use of them in the anime). Overall it's an entertaining ride. But I have no idea what the antagonist was trying to do, the purpose and motivation of his/her actions. If someone could explain why the hell shit happens (in spoiler tags) that would be great. I'm not too keen on the whole 'spreading chaos for the sake of it because I've gone insane' and stuff like that. I do think that the action is better than Gundam series (well, Seed at least, haven't seen 00) though.

basically:
It was an attempt to control everything. I forget her name but she was passing off this network as a new way to communicate through slipspace on a whole different level. If you remember there were a few episodes that they had problems with communication (and folds) because of gravity wells and the like and those beast didn't. The major problem with the whole thing was the one at the primary node had the ability to control all the pawns tapped into the network. She wanted to get everyone to have that damn crystal implanted to them.
not the best of explaination but thats what I took out of it. *shrug*
