Dude, that's not generic, it's called a formula. What matters is what you do with that formula. You see it in entertainment all the time. That's like calling a thesis generic because it has a beginning, middle, and end. If you can add your own unique flavor to the formula, that's all that really matters. Almost everything borrows from something else, I can guarantee you that. Sure, Naruto isn't the most original thing in the world, but just about everything has been done before, so I don't know what kind of unrealistic expectations you have. Naruto is one of the best Shonen out there in my opinion, especially compared to some of the other stuff I've seen from that genre. By your description, you could argue that Berserk is generic. I doubt you'd agree to that. If something works, why try to fix it? Besides, there have been some really unique abilities displayed in Naruto. Not everything can be as original as One Piece.

well either way I would have to think that we are approaching the end of this arc. The question is for the final Naruto and Sasuke show down where is Naruto going to be? Hokage or just about to realize his dream but having to reface his old 'friend'.

Well yeah, that's almost inevitable now after Sasuke saying that he is going to attack Konoha. I'm sure if Naruto gets wind of Sasuke in Konoha he will make sure he is the first there.

By that time I don't think Naruto will be Hokage, it seems too soon (that's if Sasuke decides to strike fairly soon, in the next arc or so), even if Tsunade died I would rather see a more short term replacement if possible. Naruto at the moment needs to mentally grow up a lot to fully become Hokage IMO, then again I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. Maybe after fighting Sasuke it would be his final learning curve to becoming the Hokage.

Possibly after the final showdown with Sasuke, but more likely we'll get a flash-forward into the future when he's older and has finally become hokage. Sure, that fight will will have a major impact but there will be a main antagonist to them both.

If it´s Madara or Pain or this new Kabuto or even a new resurrected Orochimaru remains to be seen.

Yeah, you're probably right. I wasn't really trying to say that Sasuke vs. Naruto will be the final battle, I wasn't really thinking about it too much at the time. My money for the final antagonist is Madara.
