This isn't a chat. This is a forum for discussion. So if you only have oneliners or rather irrelevant arguments, you should just edit your old post not make a new one .

Re: New to the Berserk Forum? Have questions? Post Here First!
I was just joking about the fact that you've had a lot of double posts, the rest are just annoyed that you have a lot of really small posts that have under 10 words in them.

Re: New to the Berserk Forum? Have questions? Post Here First!
I've lurked way to long....
I'm Matt. I first got into Berserk when Dark Horse released Vol. 1 here in the US. I was hooked instantly.
Thank you for creating and running this great site!

Hey I'm Fujinsan you can call me fujin or fuji doesn't matter. I was looking for an introduction thread guess this is it. I'm quite a fan of Kentaro Miura's berserk manga not anime, because well it's only a farce upon the greatness of the manga. So yeah I started reading berserk around two years ago and been adicted ever since, by the way does anyone know when chapter 293 comes out? Oh yeah and when you see me on the forum making a mistake please correct it I'm sort of a newb to the whole for thing.

Re: New to the Berserk Forum? Have questions? Post Here First!
Good work on posting in the correct thread, but NEVER ask when the next chapter is coming out. That's the golden rule around here. If you haven't read the Rules and Guidelines thread and the FAQ thread yet, check 'em out, they'll save you from getting flamed. Also, we already have a Fuji, so I'll call you Fujin. Welcome to the EG Forums Fujin, we'll release the new chapter as soon as it comes out. Until then we can only wait and wonder when that'll be. If we find anything out, we'll let you all know.

eh....Fujin, one little question.
The text besides the creepy clown of your signature says "he will still your soul".
English is not my native language, so I often find myself committing stupid mistakes about grammar and stuff, but shouldn't it be "steal"?
Is it some kind of joke about how the pronunciation of both words is pretty much the same?

One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings.

How do you make a post on the updates blog? I made a comment, and I don't see it.......

It works just fine. Did you try filling the fields and the such, such as the nickname and stuff? There's no reason why it doesn't work.

I put in my nickname and email address. Does it have to be the one I'm registered under?
Not sure which one I'm registered at. If you could pm me what I used, I would be grateful.

I don't have any record of you posting a comment. You don't have to register to post a comment, I think. Maybe you should try again, and be sure to click submit comment.

Would you believe that I get people asking me on YouTube when the next manga chapter's coming out? Like just because I'm some dong who makes funny videos they think I must have a close, personal relationship with Miura or something. Weird....

I know how that feels, I wrote the translations guide for RE4 and I've had several e-mails asking the completely unrelated things: "What's the best way to make money?", "What happened to Leon's jacket?", etc.

I've been a member for a couple of years now but this is my first post. I became a fan of Berserk in 2001 when the anime was first released in the U.S. and I started reading the manga when Dark Horse began publishing it. I am now up to volume 21, which is the latest volume DH has released.
Unlike most of the others here, I don't read the scanlations, although I am glad the Evil Genius folks take the time to make them and share them with other fans. I don't read them simply because my computer doesn't like .rar files for some strange reason.
I do have a question regarding volume 21 (when Griffith is reborn). If Caska (and Guts) had not been in the right place at the right time, would Griffith's rebirth still have taken place?

*I assume you already know, but you know you have to convert .rar files via program (can download for free on the web) before you can read them.kwycksylver wrote:I've been a member for a couple of years now but this is my first post. Well if you believe in the premise of everything being woven within a web of fate, then "yes".....well kind of. But hundreds of other things had to fall into place as well (Behelit apostle making his wish, congregation of the kingdom's dead and sick driven together by the Kushan invasion and the Plaque, etc). In other words things couldn't have happened any other way, at least, from the POV of Berserk's doctrine of fate.
But one question that many people disagree on is, whether or not this 'rule' of fate and inevitability, applies to Guts. And whether he is truely the "fish" that has breached the surface of fate's stream (resigned to it).....having survived an event where he was fated to die in, born from death (a corpse), etc......

Yes, I am aware.
The free program I downloaded, I forget the name of it but it's the one most everyone uses, only worked the first time I used it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still wouldn't work. I decided not to mess with trying to find one that would work and that I'd just buy the manga.

I do think that Guts does not believe in Fate, or at least that it controls HIS life. I think he believes he is the master of his own destiny (and at the same time, each time he survives a battle he's proving to the world and to himself that he has a right to be alive). I would like to believe this is true. However, this brings into question whether Caska is subject to Fate or if Guts or the Skull Knight somehow circumvented hers since she also escaped becoming one of Griffith's sacrifices. I think the Skull Knight shares a similar history to Guts, that he is out of Fate's reach. I don't think, as it has been hypothesized on this forum, that he is someone who was offered a position in the God Hand but refused it, after all Griffith's choices were either to become part of the God Hand (accept his Fate) or to die. It would seem SK would have been given the same choices. I also think that SK's armor is similar to Guts's in nature and SK is what he is now because the armor either took him over or he and it developed some kind of symbiotic existence.
::wipes brow:: Phew! I hope that makes sense.

Anyway its already been insinuated that in fact the SK was the previous owner of the Berserker armour......and supposedly blead to death while wearing it. Though nothing has explained how or why he is still alive....nor what he is at this point (in terms of an immortal being).
I think the SK does share many similarities with Guts, though ironically he shares many similarities with Griffith as well, especially if we are to assume who the SK may have been while a mortal. As many people believe SK is the Emperor Gaeseric incarnate.
Though besides the legend of having 4-angels descend upon Gaeseric's kingdom 1000 yrs prior and destroying it, no one knows for sure what exactly SK's relationship to the current Godhand is nor his agenda against them. Some believe SK holds a particular grudge against the GH Void, though nothing has been explained to shed light on the situation. At this point in the story (well into Vol. 34), the SK remains a very enigmatic character where almost every aspect of him remains a mystery to the reader.

So you probably are aware that in Chapter 24 Zodd reveals his love for Guts and they have a fling together. Unfortunately for Zodd soon after he suffers severe emotional trauma and becomes a retarded mute.kwycksylver wrote:Didn't think Guts recieved the Berserker armour till way after Volume 21?

I just picked it because green is easy on the eyes and to differentiate my responses from The Prince's. I could do red instead, unless it's someone else's trademark.Starnum wrote:*Eyes the lime green text with contempt* Is someone trying to steal my shtick? Heh, j/k, I could care less. Re: New to the Berserk Forum? Have questions? Post Here First!
Ah, it's fine, you can use whatever color you want. You don't have to use a color though, no one else around here but me does. By all means though, feel free to do so if you wish. Honestly though, that red color doesn't stand-out well on the darker post background. If you're gonna use colored text though, you might considered a lighter shade. *shrugs*

red isnt as easy on the eyes as green
