Currently Watching?

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

But anyway if you liked Paprika, you gotta watch Tokikake (The Girl who leapt through Time). It's from the same author and while I thought Paprika was a enjoyable movie, I fell completely in love with Tokikake.

Cheers
You don't remember it?..
There was a note she left for the cop at the end of the movie when he went to the online bar. The 2 bartenders gave him a note from Paprika that said the girl who liked that fat ass guy will change her name and suggested that he go and see the movie "(The?) Children's Dreams". At the end of the movie he goes to see the movie and buys a ticket.
Yeah, I've had that movie on my to watch list for awhile now.

Oh yeah now I remember. Well the two were in a movie theater before watching something/someones dream I think. So maybe the note meant that they will meet again, in their dreams?

Eh..I don't know. I think I might leave this Anime as one that beat my comprehension, ha. But then again, I re-watched the ending and seen the translation had it as "The Dreaming kids"..did a search and found a 1944 movie that sounds like it was what Paprika was talking about.

The movie summary:
"In The Dream Kids, the Crow is suffering a long winter's night along in the blizzard. Then he notices a house and invites himself in. The Fox who was reading peacefully until then quickly sends the Crow to what he says is the bedroom but is actually back outside as the door gets slammed on Crow. Crow quickly finds a Dream Book which says that foxes are afraid of barking dogs. So the Crow impersonates a barking dog that scares the Fox to jump on the ceiling where he sees the Crow with an inflatable seahorse who is asked by Fox what he is. "I'm your nightmare. Huh-huh-huh-huh," comes the reply whose voice sounds like Goofy (but probably not Pinto Colvig). Crow then blows his trumpet as the Fox says, "Don't shoot!" Too late as everything explodes. Crow is then sitting down as he says to Fox, "What you need to get rid of your nightmares is some companionship," but the Fox still throws him out. Later on, Fox dreams of a beautiful fox lady in a dress who starts to kiss him as the Crow breaks the window and convinces him he's still dreaming as Crow is now in band uniform playing drums and giving a note from dream girl to meet her under the cheery tree as Fox obeys and Crow now has the bed to himself! When the same dream girl appears before the Crow in bed, the Fox witnessing this gets jealous and confronts dream girl only to be told by her in a Mae West impression that she's in Crow's dream (and remember she's a literal fox!). Fox, even more jealous now, nails Crow's feet down, brings train tracks on him and has train go through when all is left afterwards is a shirt as Fox then mourns Crow's death. But then another train goes through with Fox now down and inside is the Crow holding hands with the foxy lady!"

Very weird..But fits right in with the movie.
To anyone here who has watched the GANTZ anime, could they tell me if it is any good?

Can't find a recent thread for it.

I hate the Gantz manga with a passion and it is the worst tripe I have ever had the misfortune of reading.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same as the manga, except the last 3 episodes, where they make up their own little filler ending. Manga's definitely the way to go. If you haven't read the manga, I think it's really awesome, though I have a morbid fascination with depraved shit like that. :P

Wow, I just watched the first episode of Mushishi. That has to be one of the best first episodes of a series I've seen in a long time.

Your right, I really enjoyed the anime until the last three episodes....last mission. Nothing was ever really explained at the end, nor did the ending have any closure (reason).

I want to read the manga, just haven't found a good place to find (read) it.

Black Lagoon = . If I knew it was this good I would of watched it a long time ago. Levy/Revy is fucking awesome..when she gets that smile on her face while killing people it reminds me of Seras from the Hellsing ova when she licks the knife. I hope the 2nd season goes more into her past.

Edit: 2nd season gives the same amount of "goodness" as the first..Without the background of Revy that I wanted. :(

Tenchi muyo: Universe (7/10)
Tenchi muyo: Tenchi in tokyo (6/10)

Watching__
Eyeshield21 (American football + Anime = Awesome)
Clannad
Naruto Shippuden (Can´t it end soon?!)
Paranoia agent (I have my hopes up for this one)
Zombie loan (Don´t expect this one to be worth watching but i started watching it so i have to complete seeing it)

Going to watch
Gundam 00
Tenchi Muyo: GXP

Well thats it for now.
Would you say that DearS is better than Tenchi Universe?
Yes i would, But in a different style. There are moments when Tenchi is better then DearS but the overall i would say DearS is more rewarding to watch.

Can't find a recent thread for it.

I have watched it and read the Manga, i would say its more worth reading the manga then watching the anime. Its still beeing released aswell (the manga that is)

But if you enjoy nudity, slaughter and violence in a sci-fi setting then you really should watch/read it.

Yeah....in the Manga shit has gotten soooo crazy. Things had really stepped up, where the anime left off at.

And by "left off".....I mean left on the side of the road. What a shitty ending.....no closure at all!

Macross Frontier just started I think. It seems decent and in the closing they are playing "Do you remember love?". I was happy with that in a geeky way. :)

Watching:
Bleach
Naruto Shippuuden
Ghost Hound
Ghost Hunt
Genshiken 2

I re-watched the Hellsing ova's the other day.. Then, I went through all the anime I planned to watch on my computer, and everything seems so boring now! :[

I'll probably start watching Gantz or Noir.. maybe Dennou Coil. Still haven't watched Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress, or Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo which have been on my hd for like 5 weeks.

Macross frontier is shaping up to be a good watch... after watching the first episode it left me hanging in suspense... i would enjoy seeing the next episode

in regards to the the new idol, Sheryl Norme(?), she's OK but i need to see more of her in action as the only other broad to come close to Minmay's greatness was Sharon Apple :D

also... one thing i should mention... there doesnt seem to be any more of the "Drama" aspect that present in the previous incarnations of Macross... its more of a shounen style of anime... getting kinda tired of the shounen style.....
