Re: Currently Watching?
Besides the usual stuff, since I finally finished Seirei no Moribito and Claymore, I've started watching D. Gray-man. SnM was really good stuff, and Claymore, despite the altered ending, was still pretty bitchin.

Re: Currently Watching?
Finished watching Samurai Champloo yesterday. And now I'm sad that it's over. It was just so cool and stylish...
Anyway someone here said the last few episodes suck. I didn't feel like that.
When the last few episodes started I had a feeling in my back that either Mugen or Jin would die, sacrificing themselves for Fuu or the other. And 'lo and behold, Jin (seemed to) sacrifice(d) himself in that fight against the assassin so Mugen could go save Fuu. If someone would do that I thought it would be Jin because he was just that kind of guy... and I was all like "Noooo Jin don't die!". And then Mugen gets fucked up in that explosion and I was like "Fuck no, Mugen! Even he can't survive that explosion." And then Jin gets up and stabbed again... and both seem dead. But then they get up and cross swords again and fall lifeless to the ground, and I'm all like "Fuck no, after all that they are going to die of exhaustion?!"
But they survived, cool dudes as they were. The ending itself with them parting was a bit sad, but somehow it had to be. At least they were alive, and they were friends, so I can feel that they will all met again sometimes...
The style is just magnificent, and the characters are so likeable. As told in the spoiler above, it was a long time ago when I cared so much for characters in a fiction to feel with them. Samurai Champloo made me.
So anyway, I'm all outta Anime to watch right no, so any suggestions? I really dig the ones with good story and likeable characters, not some cliche'd stereotypes.

There's so many, depends on what genre you like. I'd suggest "Monster" if you haven't seen it yet..Aetherfukz wrote:So anyway, I'm all outta Anime to watch right no, so any suggestions? I really dig the ones with good story and likeable characters, not some cliche'd stereotypes.

Re: Currently Watching?
Haven't heard of Monster...
And I am not fixed on one genre. If the story and characters are good I'll take it. My favorites include Cowboy Bebop, Now and then Here and there, Berserk (duh!), Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist, FLCL, Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, Elfen Lied, and some others I probably forgot about right now

hmm..lol there's alot then. I'll list a few that I thought were good.Aetherfukz wrote:Haven't heard of Monster...

If you haven't seen Monster you have to watch that.. it's kinda long(74 episodes) but definitely worth the watch.
All I can think of are these at the moment:
Claymore
Death Note
Ergo Proxy
Last Exile
Texhnolyze
Ninja Scroll
Rurouni Kenshin
Trigun
Serial Experiments Lain
Boogiepop Phantom
Welcome to the NHK!
Darker than Black
Ghost in the shell
I started watching Shakugan no Shana..not my taste but I think I'll finish it. After 10 episodes it's almost exactly like Fate/stay night.

Ruroune Kenish I've seen probably half the episodes when it was on TV, and Ghost in the Shell I've also seen almost everything. I only know the first few chapters of the Death Note and Welcome to the NHK mangas, but I didn't know there was animes of them? At least they aren't on amazon(.de, maybe .com has them), but I will look out for them (even if that means downloading

Cheers!

Re: Currently Watching?
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles - Tokoyo Revelations Ova came out on sub today. Great stuff this by far is the best part of the manga IMO. So its great to see it in action. Clamp did a good job with this.

Re: Currently Watching?
I watched Clannad yesterday. All 7 episodes released to date.
I had been avoiding it because
1) I hate anime that are based on dating sims (or play like they are)
2) The first episode of Air bored me to tears, and this is more of the same from Key.
3) It's called Clannad, one of my favorite bands growing up, now a Japanese dating sim anime.
But I watched and got hooked. Maybe it was just that I was in the mood to cry and it popped up on the Veoh most popular page at the right time. Maybe it was the Dango Daikazoku song at the end which always leaves me melancholy and wanting to hear it again.
Anyway, I had lots of reasons why I didn't want to like it, but I liked it.
a lot.

Currently watching Trigun, and when the shipment from amazon arrives, Serial Experiments Lain, and Hellsing (only catched one episode of it when it aired on MTV).

I really loved Serial Experiments Lain... Trigun and Hellsing not as much, but still good.Aetherfukz wrote:Currently watching Trigun, and when the shipment from amazon arrives, Serial Experiments Lain, and Hellsing (only catched one episode of it when it aired on MTV).
I can imagine it kicks ass to watch the real deal on a large HD television instead of a tiny ass laptop.
Ah... my tiny ass laptop. How many hours have I held you tight.

New Line Cinema has also recently acquired rights to create an English language film version. Josh Olson, whose best-known work has been adapting A History of Violence in 2005, has agreed to write a screenplay adaptation for the movie, and also script a second Monster movie for the studioTempz wrote:There's so many, depends on what genre you like. Re: Currently Watching?
After watching Hellsing (which was nice and stylish but nothing too special) I wanted to watch Serial Experiments Lain, but the amazon shipment with the 6th season Scrubs came inbetween. It's just too hilarious to not watch on the spot

I remember the first time I watched Serial Experiments Lain. I was trippin after the last episode, I turned off all the electronics in my house and shit because I looked up something about the Schumann resonance and stuff about the earth being subconsciously connected through sound waves and something about being around electronics is bad for your health. There's an episode close to the end that has all these facts in it about storing memory and Schumann resonance etc..It's a great anime.Aetherfukz wrote:After watching Hellsing (which was nice and stylish but nothing too special) I wanted to watch Serial Experiments Lain, but the amazon shipment with the 6th season Scrubs came inbetween. I'm watching Evangelion again for the first time in nearly seven years.
It is still the best fucking show to come out of Japan and anyone who doesn't think so simply doesn't get it.
That is a fact.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Azumanga Daioh yesterday. And OMG it is freaking hilarious - I haven't laughed that loud at a comedy in ages!

Re: Currently Watching?
Eh..I just watched Paprika and I thought it was great all the way up until, "and I suggest watching the movie Children's Dreams".
Can someone explain the significance of why she wanted him to watch that movie. I thought I knew what was going on up until she said that. I'm so confused now. I must of missed something important and I don't think re-watching is going to help.

Re: Currently Watching?
Hmm I've watched the movie in German and I cannot remember anything about a movie Childrens Dreams... but it has been some month. But anyway if you liked Paprika, you gotta watch Tokikake (The Girl who leapt through Time). It's from the same author and while I thought Paprika was a enjoyable movie, I fell completely in love with Tokikake.
Cheers
