Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
Well I'm at the fourth target right now. And too me it didn't get repetitive at all. Maybe that's because I'm used to World of Warcraft which was a hellova lot repetitive
Sure you always investivate, pickpocket, eavesdrop, then assassinate, then get out of sight. But Altair looks and moves so extremly smooth doing all that that it's just a joy watching of steering him. Often when I want to get to some point in town I completely get it out of sight because I enjoy jumping above rooftops so much. It really shines throught that the developers were inspired by Parcour and Freeclimbing.
And pretty much 80-90% of single player games use a given formular and use that on every level. Mario Games? You do the same thing in every level, just the layout changes. Metroid? You do the same thing over and over, just the layout changes. Etc. PP.
Oh and Mass Effect is X-Box 360 only right? Damn I'd kill for such a RPG again, I completely loved Knights of the Old Republic 1+2!

Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
well I agree that all games are repetitive. But there is the usual little change up to everything once in awhile. Look at Call of duty 4. It was mostly just shoot and move but every once in awhile it was blow up this tank, snap this dogs neck, call in an airstrike, shoot them with this minigun etc.
Again with that said if I didnt' expect this game to be an instant classic then I wouldn't be complaining about it. But now that I think about it I dont' know if I've played a better action game. Maybe sands of time (ubisoft knows what they're doing) probably another game. Its a short list I know that. We shall see how Splinter Cell: Conviction builds on this formula.

not a big vagrant story fan. Xenogears of course look at my username. Shenmue one of the greatest games ever made as well.RanShi wrote:Vagrant Story.

On a sidenote I will probably buy Call of Duty 4 this week so I can maybe play it online with some of you
Usually I like shooters more on the PC because of the keyboard+mouse setup, but my PC surely can't play COD4 anymore

Xenogears is a horrible game.
Holy shit.
Good story though.

I would agree with you if you didn't say that third line. Talking fetus' are not involved in quality story development.Femto wrote:Xenogears is a horrible game.

Just ignore them, we know how awesome Xenogears really was.Grahf wrote:You know I was going to respond to this but. I thought better of it.Malvado wrote:Talking fetus' are not involved in quality story development.

Granted, the graphics and gameplay could have been better, I suppose. However, I thought the combo system was really cool and fun (one of Xenosaga's greatest faults, IMO). As for the story itself, well, epic.

Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
I once rented and XBox 360 with Blue Dragon and The Darkness. Played maybe an hour of Blue Dragon, thought it sucked and was like Final Fantasy VII concerning the gameplay but with shitty characters. Then I just played through the Darkness in two nights - that game was wicked.

Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
Lately i was playing Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. Not bad at all but if i must choose wich one was better it surely would be first game from PSX (though it has 2D chara. and time limit:P)

Never played the first Valkyrie Profile game, but the second one is indeed a very enjoyable game. I really like the mix of action and strategy in the fighting sequences.

Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
hmm I liked both games. Though one day I'm going to get the psp port for the first valkyrie profile.

PS2: Final Fantasy X International
I wanted to re-play FFX, but if I was going to do that I might as well play the better version. The extras are very limited, but it's still FFX, so it's good.

Well, I played and beat Conan, that was good shit. So it's like God of War in a lot of ways, like that's a bad thing. :p
Now I'm playing Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Wish I was playing Assassin’s Creed though, not that Ratchet and Clank is bad, quite the opposite in fact.

Re: What lies in your console as we speak?
Kind of a joke. My Wii tends to get warm, even in standby mode, and the only way I can get it to cool down is to unplug it, yet after about 2-3 hours of being on it gets warm again. I haven't had any trouble with games or anything, but I'm kind of paranoid about it, since discs have gotten fairly warm after staying in for extended periods of time. Nothing painful of anything, but enough to make me curious.Aetherfukz wrote: What?
