Nocturnal Bane

A carved name
on a vertical stone across
surrounded by roses of blue
in the gulf of loss.

Canvasses of distress
you tormenters of the nights
revealing the sweetest moments
of most cherished sights.

How bitter this sweetness tastes
foul and rotten
this chocolate in my mouth
violently has me ill begotten.

The Yearning, the Wanting
can never be satisfied
by paintings alone
At any given time.

As if the Spirit resembles the body,
as if the Idea can replace,
something too close
-once so tangible to Hold.

Love is felt in the heart
but love occurs by touch
and at the end
the thought can only do so much.

A man without a home
Never to call a place his own
That he shall become
Eternally destined to roam.

Haunting him beyond his grave
Finding a home never
Even in his tombstone
A Diaspora that shall last forever.

To the depths of hell
A life led without a smile
A future without hope
He shall make it worthwhile.

Fury to be found in his eyes
He shall shout mighty and high
In the face of all terror
With fists aimed at the sky.

When all comes down in the end
There is nothing to fear
Without illness and contempt
He will always go with a cheer.

My beloved blest
From the button of my chest
Adieu and Goodbye
