Honourable Apostles

Post by Eldo »

Since all the threads started by Kitsume Buaki are good ones...I decided to resurrect it. So what do you think about Locus, Grunbeld, and the rest of those wannabe knights?

they are a bunch of "things" that once upon a time used to have humanity in them.
that humanity was erased the moment they turned into apostles but i think they still keep the stronger traces of their personalities.
if they used to have values (like the knights values) they are somewhat bounded to have a little of those traces

Quite frankly they all seem like weird variations of Zodd, character wise of course only. I mean they all retain some form of humanity and freedom of choice, but they are still demons, and they don't hesitate to act like them if need be.
I think the future will show us how much honour or any other value is really left in them. Grunbeld and company never hesitated to attack poor old Flora, even though there was nothing honourable about that.

Maybe they want to in the end make a world that is united under one ruler and will be free from wars. Sort of like "the ends justify the means" type of thing. Sort of like in hero. Helll, maybe the series will end with Grifith being vicotrious.

I don't know, they retain a certain amount of honor. However, they're still evil bastards who are going to pay dearly as far as I'm concerned.

I think by honor, they have some of the attributes of a typical knight, something like discipline and loyalty.

I think the point is to keep us guessing as to how evil Griffith himself really is. If he surrounds himself with pseudo-honourable demon knights then there could be a chance that he'll just unite the country, without entering an era of darkness and despair. It's pretty dreary already as it is, hence the strange prophecies of the hawk of light, etc.

every ruler has his down sides
Grifith will be no exception
but as long as he can unite the country and keep the killing and hunger to a minimal he should be a nice king

although i think that's not gonna happen because Grifith is a bad guy

We never have really seen a true display of grifiths power. For all we no after he mecomes king he could just kill off all the monsters under him and make it look even greater for him sayin he slayed the monsters plauging midland. Then he will look even better and hes already somewhat worshiped.

Don't think he would kill of monsters to gain the people's trust. Because Griffith gained the trust of the people before becoming king, thus preventing an usurption to the throne. He's already worshipped as you say, and the monsters are like his dogs.
