I read a statement that goes like this:
Did you know? About 50% of Americans live within 50 miles of their birthplace. This is called propinquity.
So is it true my fellow americans? :]

Depends on your stats, it can be said to be the same no matter your nationality.

It's called circumstance. The automotive revolution expanded our living options. Back in the day it would've been a 100% chance you lived in the same throwing distance and built a house on the other side of the farm.
I'm curious what the information is trying to imply. Someone thought it was relevant. Even at 50%. Like there's a 50% chance to extract oil from Alaska in an economically feasible way. Might as well flip a coin on that multi-million/billion dollar decision.

Seems like the statistic is wrong, but you can't really gauge the facts off of the results of this board.
