Something Im gonna recommend is the Elric saga by Michael Moorcock, if you read and havent read it then check it out.

Catch 22 and Doctor Faustus are really good books but I doubt half of you could actually read Doctor Faustus. I say this having read it and it's use of diction is rather old since it was written around world war 2. The fact that there's also musical theory involved, it might make it rather difficult to get through but if you can, read it.

I may be mistaken, but wasn't Doctor Faustus written by Marlowe during the Elizabethan period? WWII happened during the 20 century. Anyways I agree that it's a good book. Check it out if you wanna read about demons and stuff.

That would be the play by Christopher Marlowe, I'm talking about a book done by the German Author Thomas Mann. The faust legend has been redone many times but I really like Mann's interpretation as it's influenced by German Society as a whole during world war 2 and Nietzche.

Edit: Btw, I'm a history buff, for me to think that world war 2 happened during the elizabethan period would be rather silly. The difference in the titles should've been a hint that it was a different book/play

For fantasy, I reccomend The Shannarra Series by Terry Brooks (I believe, that's his last name, I haven't read them in years) and th Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. But it's been so long since the last one, not only have I forgetten most of the semi-important characters, I I forgot most of the story as it is. Man, re0reading ten books is gonna take a while. Then again, I have all summer to start .

Anyway, I loved Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. Has some of the best moments I've ever read/seen/esperienced ever.

That man is awesome. The Sandman series is probably the greatest comic series ever written. Better story than the majority of prose for sure. I recommend anyone who likes good storytelling to go down to your comic shop and pick up atleast the first volume of the Sandman, which was by far the worse volume. He had yet to come into his own. By the middle of the series it is just so creative and awesome. Also many of the volumes are just short stories, and they are some of the best short stories you can find. I woudl definately say a must read.

Other good authors, I am a huge John Grisham fan. Also would recommend reading "Angels and Demons" and "Da Vinci Code." Don't have them with me and I forgot the authors name. Also read Thomas Harris, he is the author of Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannible. The books are just amazing, the way it goes into psycology is so much better than the movies. Hannible the movie blew hard compared to the book. Different better ending in the book, plus the movie was missing all the best parts of the book. Very intelliegent novels. Well that is just a small list for now.

In my youth(lol). I read the piers anthony "xanth" series alot. I loved those books. I dont care wat you guys say, but i liked harry potter. And the halo and resident evil books were good. I also like dan browns work. Yea i like books.

I love The Foundation books by Asimov and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is favorit book of all. When i read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy i have laughed so much that it hurt every time i read it. When i heard that Adams is dead it broke my heart, why must all geniuses die early

If you know other good books by Adams let me know cause i have had trouble finding other book written by him.

Asimov its easier to find his books since has wrote many books.

Recently i finished reading The DA Vinci Code by Brown,normally i dint like detective books but This one was great cause i love historical books and there is so much history stuff in this book that without the history it would be a boring book. Now i look forward to sequel if it will be one.

There are two other books by Dan Brown that take place before "the Da Vinci Code" just remember when reading his books, none of the ideas are real, he just takes bits and pieces and molds it into a story that could almost seem real. There is also a Da Vinci Code movie in the works too.

I'm not stupid enough to think that everything he says in the book are real Even if somethings in the book are true if you believe in Jesus and stuff. I mean the Graal thing depends on if you believe in jesus.
Thats the hole point about the book,it depends on what you believe in.

But i wonder if the secret cult that Da Vinci is supposed to be in was a real one or if Brown made it up.

Its intresting that we muslims think that Jesus just like Brown says.

I know that Langdon faces the vatican in the book before but the third i must look after and see whats its about.

Angles and demons is the book that you should have read before the da vinci code. Its the prequel to it. And in my oppionion its better. But yea. The priory of scion was a real organization. But the real things they did are not as it was in the book i think.

Well Ive recently started to get really interested in reading and i don't have much under my belt. But ill give it a shot.

Fantasy: War of the spider queen - Multiple authors Ive only red book one and two but so far its pretty good, well written characters.

Science fiction: nothing yet but im gonna buy Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy

Philosophy- Ive read some Karl Marx, Nietzsche, Sartre, Mounier, Descartes and i forget the names of a couple of others Ive red. Anything written by these authors is pretty interesting.

make sure you get hitch hikers... i say if you like long books and vampires get some anne rice books, i enjoyed them, better then the movies haha.

I heard Dune was pretty good... but i havent touched in on it.
