has everyone just forgotten about the use of this word? everyone everywhere just dont use it anymore despite the incorectness of their grammar... its always "then" this and "then" that it kinda pisses me off and i dont know why... its prevalent in manga too and for some reason i cant stop focusing on the "then"/ "than" gramatical errors

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but I hardly think you can rant about the "then/than" issue considering your post is horribly disjointed and lacks punctuation, capitalization of the first letter of sentences, ellipses instead of periods. I feel your pain on the grammar issue, however, typically when one rants about grammar, you try to make your post look like a professor of English has typed it. Otherwise, it won't be taken seriously.

Yes, I have noticed some grammar mistakes in manga, and in posting, I too have succumbed many times. Yet there are far more serious crimes like "for all intentional purposes" which should be "for all intents and purposes". Notice how some people use the former, they do so in attempt to sound intellectual but for people that know, it is a way to mark them as inherently stupid and not worth the time to talk to.

Have you neglected to use Spell Check? Not to mention punctuation as well...

Sorry, but I don't take some in babble relating to English accuracy/usage from someone who cannot demonstrate the 'proper' and correct usage of the language. Your post is riddled with punctuation and spelling errors (there are several grammatical mistakes I noticed too) which doesn't really help support the point you're trying to make. I do see your point however, but I have yet to fall for the than/then trap, but it will be inevitable. It's not really a big deal. I don't see why you have to make a thread that is sorely dedicated to the proper use of the word.

Heh, what? I thought it was a bit of fun. It didn't like me much time to run through your post to check for errors anyway since spell check does it for me in under 5 seconds. Heh, don't mind me, I understand your point, but you can't preach if you ain't a believer. I don't have any beef with you. Just saying if you want the point you're making to have impact, then type in the way that would garner proper attention and seriousness in the post. Do not contradict what you're trying to say.

No need get all anal about it, I understand your point and all. Just saying that it could have been more effective if it was typed properly. I'm not trying to start vendettas like 'Eldo's gone through my post and checked for spelling errors and he's a fucking cock brain for doing it'. Heh.
