how do i download bit torrent files from irc

The only thing i know ican download in irc is xdcc and thats it. I have no idea how to even begin downloading a bit torrent file please help me.
You don't download torrents over IRC. There is a leechers guide in one of hte helps and it gives a link to the EG torrents, and you just download the torreents from there. IRC is more or less a direct connection between you and the person you are recieving from, there are no other peopel invlolved, where bit torrent everyone is sending to everyone.
If you don't even have a bittorrent client, I woudl recommend getting bit tornado, thats the one I like best.
