I loathe that shit too. Never understood that whole rave and techno thing. That's the only genre of music I cannot listen to because my ears will start bleeding. I suppose you have to be high on acid and/or LSD to get that.

Just for clarification, acid is LSD. Perhaps another suitable (and more popular) raver drug of choice would be ecstasy and then after that meth.

Granted I've never touched the last two, but I do enjoy the music when it is done well. VNV Nation, Fictional, Syrian, and etc. They are more synthpop though, good lyrics and music that you can dance too. Pure techno is just meditation music for some people and ear bleeding noise to others.

I'd take trance/techno over the shit they have on mtv any day. If you don't have a good system or headphones it probably does sound like shit but, yeah..I just busted out laughing as I was watching that crazy guy with his shirt off dancing in the street.

I only go to techno parties where they play psy-trance, Dark psy-trance, tech house, acid, Progressive trance, minimal, Goa and so on.
Something like this.
Much better then the commercial crap they play on the radio/Mtv (Euro techno sucks, like Scooter and ATB).
And meth is not a common drug on techno parties, not in Europe, India or any asian country atleast (Havent been to parties elsewhere so cant say for sure ).
Mushrooms is the way to go by the way
