Right, so... now that I've officially gottenthe nudge from Femto that it would be preferable to have profile on the left rather than the right, and considering it has been a month and people have gotten used to it, lets have a poll!

So yes... the options are:

Right
Left
I don't care

This is the argument I put forth, verbatim:

It is kind of odd though.

We're used to reading from left to right and I was used to seeing who typed the post before I actually read it.

Now I read it, look at who wrote it and read it again to put it in context.

As somebody that's heavily studying sequential art and how the eye moves through text, I can tell you that it's very awkward and confusing.

i voted left, but going off of what femto said, maybe having it on the right would cause people to judge a post more by it's content than the person reading? i doubt it, but i'm just getting used to it being on the right.

It feels awkward because all forums use the profile on the left and almost everyone's used to that, there isn't any real disadvantage to having it on the right. It's not really important to look at who's writing before viewing the message, and it won't hurt your eyes either. Plus, it makes the forums more original.

Also...

There's a great risk for bias when seeing who wrote the post before reading it (there will still be prejudice regardless, but you get the idea). Let them read the posts, be amazed by them, and then SURPRISE! Look the idiot who wrote it.

It has to be on the left. Easier to identify which member you're replying to or addressing.

I think that every forum i went in the far fields of the internets, they always had the avatar on the left side so i´m already used to that format, ti´s easier to check out the creator of the post, not that it´s that important either way, i´m already used to how it is now.
