So, yeah... we are online and rocking.

There will be a few hiccups as I transfer things over the next couple of days.

Your donations at work! 8)

The server currently has 4 slots of 6 filled (picture was taken before I filled the 2nd bank), so we are kicking with 2G of ram.

We can either fill of the last (3rd) bank with 2 sticks of 512GB, 1GB, or 2GB. Figured if we ever need to go that route, we can, but more than 2G is unnecessary unless the forums takes off and mysql can't store the tables in ram anymore.

This is the first full day of it running under 'normal' load so please feel free to hammer it more than usual. :D There may be some downtime while things are being 'fixed'. Hopefully you all won't notice a thing.

The server now lives in Richmond Virginia, where my main office is located. 4 hour drive away, but still nice to have closer than Austin Texas. :P

You're the man, Psi.

And the donators.

But why is your main office four hours drive away (from your home?)?

Because we have two offices, one in Richmond (where Cingo servers are located) and one in Blacksburg, where I work.

I can't host here in Blacksburg, against the ToS of VTCRC... they would catch on. *grin*

Richmond on the other hand, they own the building. So its cool.

It changes the fact that I don't have shell out $75 a month to host eg, it's scanlated manga, and that the forums run faster. That translates to the fact that if I have to do some budgeting around the house to pay the bills, I don't have to close down Mindwerks & EG make ends meet. 8)

Sounds like a sound investing. Thanks for the dedication you put in this btw. Not sure people thank you often, but its cool to see you do things like this when there isnt any profit in it.

Thank you sir, most kind of you. Just out of curiosity, where do you download your manga from? I assume a direct download of some kind, otherwise the tracker is also hosted on the server here as well.

I actually dont read much of manga (more of a anime viewer, or used to be, not seen anime for over a year now). Mostly out of laziness or not knowing exactly where to find the mangas I want (hence I have no clue of the lingo in online mangas and stuff, hence why some idiot mod here insulted me a while ago for not knowing what scanlation meant).

The ones I read, is the ones Libaax downloads (he is my leeching pimp, wouldnt have read any of the stuff if he didnt introduce them), like Beck and stuff. Not many in total. Same with comics, I read whatever he downloads (or buys). Stopped reading many great mangas simply because I didnt bother downloading it myself, no idea why(same thing for Bezerk, only read upto vl 9, loved it, but just didnt read further).

Bit weird when I now think about it. stopped reading many mangas/comics I think are great for no reason...

The only manga I read is Berserk. I can't be bothered to read the rest of the mangas, especially when I'm a mile behind.

If we have to test the limits of the server, let's host porn.

Well that was fucking fun! So, I was attempting to setup some temp monitoring software when BAM! The server locks up upon probing for heat sensors.

This was my fault because I didn't give the 'This may hang server, if it does don't run this test again.' message, much thought. Never happened before to me. Well, it has now I sure won't run that again. :P

Many apologies to anyone who couldn't stand being away from the forum on a Sunday.

Hehe, just wait and see. I think a few around here will get a laugh out of it and perhaps draw in some new blood around here.

I did everything from Cisco networking, copper cable/coax and fiber based ethernet mediums, to building scalable systems for government contractors and medical firms, using linux and microsoft based solutions.

I was CCNA certified from 2000 to 2004.

You name, I've probably touched it or worked on it.

I left IT after graduation from Uni in 2005, I'm a software engineer by profession and degree now. No more beeper and being on call on weekends, so I'm mostly stress free now. :D

Why do ya ask?

We may have an IT position available in Richmond, VA soon, so if anyone has a resume/cv feel free to send my way. :D Linux experience is a requirement, especially dealing in Debian/Ubuntu in a high density clustered environment.

ps: psi of psi29a is not an acronym, so no need to capitalize, just cut & paste. :D
