So, I've been toying around with the idea of having a game that the berserk junkies could play, perhaps here in the forums.

It would be like fantasy sports (football), where you sign up to play for an interval, and are randomly assigned characters from Berserk (and perhaps our other releases). You have time to trade to other players up till the day before the chapter is released.

Then based on certain things like, how many times the person shows up on a page. How many people they kill, how many jokes they crack, how many weapons they use and stuff along that line, you get points. There can also be points awarded for guessing what day Berserk will be released.

Perhaps at the end of the interval, the people (or person) with the most points, wins and gets a prize. (I have no idea what yet).

Anywho, what do you all think?

I think that we should all agree that Guts is off limits for this contest if it comes down to page time and/or killing enemies. Otherwise whoever gets him pretty much is an automatic winner.

Sounds interesting. Yeah, I'd play if something like that was set up. But I agree with Tempest that Guts should be off limits.

This probably won't be set up in time for this release, but perhaps afterwards.

However, I need a list of characters that have been shown in the past 5 chapters. Please, only those with names, not the fodder.

We also need a list of things we can count, for example:

Things that can be based off characters (passive):
Appearances per chapter per character.
# of wisecracks per character
# of things made dead by character.

Things that can be guessed (active):
Number of pages
Number of two-page spreeds
Over all body Count
When the next release of Berserk will be.

Stuff along that line, the more we have, the more fun this will be. We also need judges who will not participate but will help in the counting. I nominate the mod-hand, but those of the mod-hand that want to play, can't be judges.

Also, what all would you guys want if you win. Special heads up on credit page of next berserk? An 0make in their honor?

This sounds like an awesome idea. We'd have to close or discount guesses/hands at the point of raw release though, in case some people try to cheat at the last minute

How about a change in custom title as the reward?

First title, you get the 'Winner' type title, and then, if you win the second time, you choose your own custom title.

If you win three times...highly unlikely, then some sort of surprise is in store. I just haven't thought of it yet.

If by custom title you mean the text below your username, then that's what I was talking about.

It'd be a good prize cause it's a privilege only the mods have. Then again, the mods would have nothing to play for.

Sounds cool to me, but I think EnglishJim has a point that it would seem to preclude the mods from playing, unless maybe it was to defend their sole right to the custom title.

I already know I'm going to be claiming some sleepers off of the waiver wire.

So, are we doing this thing or do we have to tune out the finer details?

most definitly need finer details and maybe a limited number of contestants each release if you just have like 200 random people calling out names and guesses it will turn to chaos, wich will agravate everyone and having the prize be a personal title that you choose i dont think is a very good idea because it would lose its meaning after about 10 people got there personal titles that arent moderators.
