An interview with President Musharraf of Pakistan on the Daily Show

I feel a little sorry for the guy, I guess he doesn't have that much power when it comes down to it, so he didn't have the guts to tell Powell and Armitage to go f*** themselves, like others have done. I would feel sorry for him for the whole condescending Jon Stewart interview - but really, he's only there promoting his book, and it's hardly unexpected during the Daily Show. Still, he's too much of a lipschtickle for my taste, there's diplomacy, and then there's pride - there's got to be some sort of middle ground.

In comparison, I always find interviews with the Iranian president really amusing, he doesn't seem to care if he offends anyone, and by the looks of things he only says what he does (mainly) in an effort to bait Americans. Considering all those "negotiations" he had to put up with when for the most part he was keeping Iran out of things, it's hardly surprising his (diverting) antics now. Remember - it takes two to bully, one to do the bullying and the other to listen. Besides, with Pakistan, it's not like America could have really come up with some BS excuse to really cause that much trouble for them in the first place.

Oh, and if anyone caught any interviews from the spokesperson for the military coup in Thailand - it had me laughing the entire time (now there's someone who knows how to put on an entertaining show) - that's how one should react to international pressure rather than caving in.

Hehe, what a coincidence, I just saw this today on tv(I guess we are a day or 2 behind on the shows), and I loved it

And I didnt see much wrong or embarrassing with Musharraffs behaviour, or condenschending with Jon's(the tea thing was obviously a joke, and him having not much power to twart or challenge the retarded bully govt is an obvious fact, which Jon persisted only to show how the govt are).

Seen him in other interviews and such(BBC programs, 60 minutes and so on), and he is allways quite frank, open and down to earth as a character despite being a politician(thats why he is quite popular in Pakistan, despite of him being secular and a big minority of his country being radicals), not your typical too diplomatic or weasle of politician who avoids direct answers. Quite realistic and upfront in his position and views regarding the sitaution of his country and Afghanistan(He is the only one who is fighting the real war against terrorism compared to the bogus imperalistic one).

He is realistic in realising when he is powerless to do anything... not only that he was threatend by the US, who could have bombed Pakistan without anyone doing shit about it(its naive to think anything would stop them from doing so...its right after 9/11, Pakistans refusal would have turned them nto an enemy of "the free world" with simple retarded rhetorics)...but also that US's close ally is their quite more powerful rival India, and the tension they would get from a refusal of the pathetic threat would have been substanstial(Iran's sitaution is uncomparable, they are heavy weights and a country not to mess with, they actively challenge the US for a reason).
