If you disagree with the above statements then show some proof, i.e. post some crazy, over the top action flick scenes.
PS: If anything pertaining and/or relating to any of the three Matrix films has crossed your mind by now, then you are hereby disallowed to post in this thread forever.

The best action movie of all time is Matrix 1.
The gunfight in the federal building is still owns every action movie ever!!
Talk about soundtrack in that scene.
Sorry had to be truthful.

Belly of the Beast - Seagal cuts an arrow in half with a sword, and cuts another arrow in half with a bullet.

Two Words:
Fire Kick.
*EDIT* Make that 6 Words. Fire Kick and YouTube is Lame
Sorry but you all of you are wrong. The best damn action movie ever is Equilibrium. It was made in only month and half, with a $20 milion bucks budget (Van Helsing costed 200 molions), but it kicks ass. http://youtube.com/watch?v=SybOU2vYFRk
You might find thing with a dog at the end a bit weird if you are not familiar with the plot.

Let me expand that little clause in my first post:
"Any movie that uses slow motion during intense action scenes is forever disqualified from this thread."
How are you going to put slow motion in a crazy action sequence?
The Matrix guys are retarded.

well, Equilibium uses minimum slow motion.
I think that one of the taglines for that movie was: Forget the Matrix! That movie will slow you down
Terminator 2 uses slow motion in Hasta La Vista Baby scene. Although it was just for a punchline, not in the middle of the scene.

That scene is not ridiculously slowed down though and, like you said, it's not right in the middle of an action sequence, it's the climax of one actually. You can probably youtube it and see for yourself.
I have nothing against slow motion is used properly, but the Matrix just ruined the effect. I mean, I can understand how it makes sense when Neo is dodging the bullets in that infamous scene but the movie has shit slowing down every five minutes, every 60 seconds in action scenes. It's stupid and it dilutes the effect.
Fuck the Matrix.
But anyway, I think Spider-Man 2 has some pretty awesome action scenes.
Best scene ever was what Gaiseric mentioned, Chow Yun Fat, when he mowed down a whole street with two guns and unlimited ammo. Best action scene ever.

Terminator 2 it's probably the ultimate action movie. Matrix was good, Equilibrium was great, but...they're Kung Fu and guns. Terminator had much more than that.
But for me the greatest action movie is still Alien 2 (Aliens) There's something amazing when all that aliens start rushing to the soldiers, while they're swearing at them and shooting their asses down...just amazing.
Can't find anything good at Gvideo, since 'Aliens' produces thousands of (unwanted) results, and YouTube is blocked at work...

Gaiseric:
The movie Chow Yun Fat mows down people in the street is it The Killer?
I am downloading it right now.
Man this thread is by the best thing Femto has done in this forums.
The clips are great.
I laughed like crazy at The Commando clip

wait wait wait... if you didnt say terminator 2 is the best action then wtf?
The movie can stand the test of time. 10 years from now, the movie would still be fucking amazing. Liquid Metal and Arnold talking like a robot PURE GENIUS.
One hand cocking your gun on a motorcycle!?!??!!?!?!?!? movie already wins for the craziest thing done with a gun award.
The first time i saw the movie, was when my dad bought it for VHS in '93. i was 5 years old. 14 years later i still have that fucking VHS and cherish every moment of that movie.

I assume you're talking to me, since my post is somewhat dubious. What I mean is T2 is the ULTIMATE action movie - it has all kinds of action (chase, guns, fight, a great plot), and it's non-stop.
But for me, Aliens (Alien 2) is still the best - it doesn't have that much action, but it's more...'my kind'
Both by the SoB James Cameron...why he did Titanic? He should have kept on doing stuff like this (not saying Titanic is bad - can't really say, didn't watch it)...
