The list is bull like every other list that shows how much power celebs have.
Not even Operah is really that powerful outside show biz.

uh, I think you miss the point.
A good portion of the world watches Colbert for his political satire, I would say that is quite a bit of influence.
His entire stick is of a megalomaniac neo-con, which is exactly who he makes fun of.
So, perhaps we have our wires crossed because 'power' is measured in MANY different ways. Just so happens this is a list compiled of the top 100 most influencial people.
I'll take what Cobert satire has to say about the human condition over that of foxnews.

colbert's brand of satire is too much sarcastic for me.
i prefer jon stewart's "ironically its funny" or "obviously its funny".
colbert's funny is quite forced and mostly funny due to his antics and facial expression rather than funny because of the content itself.

I find his form of satire to be dead on and funny. But I'm glad we agree to disagree. ^_^

yes i agree he is exceptionally funny.
thats why he has his own show and is on a top 100 list.

I am exactly like you in this case, adore John Stewart but cant take this guy.
psi29 i know there are many diffrent kinds of power but i just meant i have seen people like Lindsay Lohan in this kind of list and no ones care about what she says or does.

You can't say that 'no ones cares' because that can be proven false because it would only take 1 person who is is influenced by Lohan to do so. You and I may not care what she does, but people do follow her trends in clothing, her choice in words, and more because of her popularity.
For example, I say MySpace is worthless... however to many people that is not the case because it is really popular. So, the list can be bullshit as far as we are concerned, however you can't deny the fact that you recognized the names of most of people there. That means, they have some influence.

Colbert is a registered Republican. Just thought I should throw that out there for those that were unaware.

Colbert's TV character is probably harder for non-Ammericans to appreciate, because they don't have to deal with the shit we Americans have for TV news and commentary programs. By emulating their feeling and creating a wickedly precise satire on them, he makes fools of all the Bill O'Reilys, Hannetys and and other big wigs of the megamedia mouthpieces of American TV. So for those of us who understand him, he is like a saviour, taking our stupidity unto his own shoulders to save us from our own ignorance. He's not so much clamoring for attention as much as he is making fun of those mega-personalities in American culture who DO beg for it.
*shrugs* It's ok if you don't get it, I guess, but the two shows compliment each other well, I think.

Colbert is hilarious. Funny I was hoping they argue more, I find him funniest when he is in an argument tantrum.
