Which would make complete sense for why Void is evil, but apparently instead of just gaining a new body and set of powers, when Void became a God's Hand he also gained a huge boost in intelligence.

I think he's just a regular apostle. He hasn't gained any boost in his skills intellectually, nor do I see an enlarged brain. I think there's a reason to why we haven't seen much of Laura Bush lately.
