Miers Nomination Withdrawn

Harriet Miers nomination was withdrawn today following criticism by everyone from Pat Buchanan to Ted Kennedy. Hailed as yet another example of Bush's pension for cronyism by the Left and derided for being too liberal by the Right, Miers found a cold reception awaiting her in the chambers of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
This defeat, which would have seemed epic several months ago, is receiving a "same old same old" reception by even the conservative media (like Fox News) to say nothing of the Main Stream media. With so little going "right" for the Bush administration, one more crushing defeat is hardly worth printing.
Speculation has already begun on the identity of Miers replacement, though given Bush's trend thus far for picking comparatively lackluster nominees, few expect an immediately recognizable name.
