Thanks for the compliments man, I was a pretty nervous about putting my stuff up here but went with the old ah it is just a game mentality and posted it.
What happened at 0:42 is that I just landed and went for a throw, Tempest escaped it. And yes, Tempest does throw fierces like no other.

But he knows he needs to fix that. I worked pretty hard on my Elena for the Mayne Event in Ann Arbor, but that was a while ago. I am always just too damn reckless and do not have the greatest of tick defenses and offenses. Been working on my parrying for ever, but always struggle alot and lose a lot of matches going for parry. But if you don't try, you won't get better right?

I've always just practiced parrying stuff you know is gonan be coming, ie someone jumping in and striking or main supers, however its hard to find any competition for me since most people at my school rather play SSBM. Ive been dying to get back into fighters, but the lack of people to play always makes me not want to play. About a year ago ive was always playing T5 and would have to say had a pretty strong Bryan Fury.
Hmmm i think i need to play some 3s soon... midterms blow chunks.

Hey, that was some pretty good shit, good work. Man, I've never actually played Third Strike, those were some decent ass animations.
For a long time now, my friends and I have been playing Hajime no Ippo: All Stars, when we feel like playing a fighter. I've seen some of the videos by those guys over at Dynamite Glove, and I'm pretty sure we could mop the floor with them. However, they seem to only be playing against the computer, and everyone knows the real skill comes from hours of player versus player combat. Heh, believe me, we've put in the hours. I'm not terribly good at fighting games, but we're monsters at All Stars. I'll try to record one of our better matches here soon and post it for you guys. The graphics may not look as good as Fight Night 3, but the game-play is WAY better. The game is supposed to see a US release at the end of the month, with a price point of only ten bucks, I believe. I guess they're trying to build fanbase or something, I'm not sure how they manage to pull that one off, but I highly recommend everyone get this title once it comes out. We've been playing it since it's Japanese release, and I've yet to get tired of it. Heh, and I can usually only play fighters for an hour or so before I get tired. We've played this game for hours on end, it's crazy, heh.

In my defense, HP is a pretty damn good poke, and is super cancelable. I was also in no condition to try and do target combos

. Hell, when I got the f+HK, MK I had just rememberd how good of a wakeup move that combo is. I actually learned quite a bit by watching myself and what I need to.
1.) Stop using HP with my uppercuts. LP has much less recovery time and works in most of the same situations
2.) Get my timing down better on HK, EX Machine Gun Punch, HFC MK, MK
3.) Stop using HK as a jump in, een though its supercancelable and looks cool
4.) Commit more target combos to memory.
5.) Sit down and learn Elena s o Ican remember what hits where.
#5 is a problem I face with all my characters, It is really easy for Ayanami to mix me up and get outcomes like match #1 because he is great with Elena and my brain cannot seem to get itself under control when he starts throwing EX shit all over the place.
We had a few other matches, including Alex VS Urien which was uber-sloppy on both our parts, Elena VS Akuma which I won because The Dark Hadou > Everybody (

) Our last one was Elena VS Ken, and I though that one looked pretty nice, even though I suffer the same HP Uppercut love with Ken that I do with Dudly (I think its the flames that Ken makes with them that entice me so). Not our best work, but it was still pretty damn fun.

Ayanami: I like the style of your Ryu, it's solid for what it is. Here are my suggestions: Rush down with him, he has nice pokes and his dash is very fast. Learn his Kara Throw (it's f+mk with ryu), an up close mk on wake up or just very close up, is perfect spacing for the kara throw and is hard to see.
same with low short, dash, throw. Play the mix up game on wake up, stand over the opponent wiff a couple moves, then just block and punish whatever they do. dash back and forth. use low mp. Cross over with mk, ls, lp, ls, super art 1.
Just try and feel more comfortable with spacing and punishment.
Seems like you have elena well on her way, just abuse her kara throw. it's the best one in the game, it's quite ridiculas.

Thanks chief, been working on kara throws. I can't seem to get it down where I can just bust it out no prob. I play on stick, any tips on how to execute it? I know if I can dish out Kara no prob, my Elena will get much much better.

I guess just go into practice mode and see what you are comfortable with and practice moves and combos over and over again.

I hear ya. I have practiced 3rd Strike so much already. But I never get really tired of it. My consistency to pull off punishment combos has gone down, I need to hunker down and put some time in again.

I have never used low/medium punch/kick in my life in any of the Street Fighter series. I always use the heavy ones. So I have absolutely no combos. Mainly it's button smash.
I'm so shit that I can beat the third guy on the list in 3rd Strike at the arcades.

Looking forward to seeing KOFXII and seeing if their high res sprites are going to be any decent.
I got the Darkstalkers Collection for the PS2 a few days ago.
Ordered it from play-asia for 20 bucks.
Contains ports of every Vampire arcade game, plus EX versions of Vampire Savior, Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2 with every single character playable + Dee, the Demitri/Donovan sprite edit.
For 20 bucks, it's a no-brainer purchase.

Well SNKP has been boasting about how this KOF will be the ultimate in 2-D fighting in terms of graphics and gameplay. They said similar shit about KOFMI... I hope their not just talking out their ass this time.
I hope that they ignore all the dumbass fanboys out there saying they wan't 40 to 50+ characters in the game. I mean these people are idiots. It takes time to make decent sprites with high animation. I would seriously be surprised to see the game hit 30 characters if it's as highly animated as I think it should be. If that happens then idiots across the world will bitch and moan. But if a company does nothing but try to cater to a couple of thousand fanboys/girls then they'll never amount to shit.
Hopefully with this new gameplay and sprite engine they'll be able to attract players who stay away from KOF.

I already have Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior for Saturn. But I may want to pick up that collection. Nothing wrong with the price.

Not only that but if they're really making new sprites from scratch, as opposed to upsizing and filtering/editing them, well, you have a whole new cast of characters that are animated differently and will most likely have different priotities and hitboxes than the ones SNKP has been using so far.
In other words, balancing hell.
Meh, SNKP is a shadow of what the company was in the mid-late 90's.
They're making fucking sim games for the DS.
The fighting genre is dead.

Any one know a good place to get info of how to play some of the older fighters like say Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter and Darkstalkers at a competitive level? SRK just has 3rd Strike and the other games they competitively at EVO and shit.

Tekken 6 - It doesn't look as great as I hoped it would look. It runs really smooth though.

Man Tekken was such an awesome series until Tekken 3.
It was a family tradition for us, me and siblings loved it and played it like crazy.
Had every Tekken up to 3.
I do hope Tekken 6 is alittle more fun than 5.
Even though the series has sucked since T4, its nice to go back to those fighters once in awhile.

What what what? T5 is an awesome game, that and T3 are the only ones in the series worth owning (T4 was a joke). You probably don't like them because they require "combos" and "practice". T1 and 2 were jokes compared to these games. Besides, from the look of the trailer, T6 might as well be called Tekken 5.5, just a few added characters and new stages. Wake me up when somebody makes a new 3-D I can give two shits about. Project Justice 2....? Naw, Capcom would find a way to fuck that up too.

T5 is better than 4 sure cause T4 was a joke.
Still not good enough cause you expect better after T3 etc.
T1 and T1 was great at their days.
