back to theories, Rickert and Godo's granddaughter are training hard and they'll kill Griffith before Guts. Rickert is using Godo's last sword, twice the size of Dragon slayer xD

Stupid theory

Casca leaves Guts and fall for Zodd and that makes Guts wanna kill them both. After he killed them he totally forgets about Griffith,his apostles and blows his head away with his cannon cause he cant live without Casca.

That would be an intresting end to say the least

Now here's a stupid theory:

Guts has a mind altering experience after eating some moldy food. He decides never to touch a sword again and instead dedicates his life to conversing with plants, and working out people's conflicts through group therapy. He has the Dragonslayer melted down to make commemorative coins featuring the heads of the original Band of the Hawk.

I'd really want to disprove that...but I simply can't. Guts has had a life of constant battle, and whenever he found a meaning to life, it involved killing somone, or saving somone (often himself). Very sad...
But maybe he could find some other occupation. Maybe...

Btw. Why did Rickert grow up and Godos granddaughter didn't?
Maybe her true parents were dwarves, too.
