A few friends and I rented the first Pirates a while ago (which I didn't really like that much) and got a bottle of rum to go along with it.

Everytime Jack did something cool, we'd take a drink.

Good times.

I still say watch it, there are some great scenes, Robert Downey Jr. is just a freaking crazy actor that goes where ever he wants.

I wasn't even excited by the black pearl
If it wasn't for Johnny Depp, that movie would have sucked as it was
I don't even know if I want to see the second part

I don't know if I said this already, but I didn't really enjoy the first Pirates.

It was predictable and fairly generic, Johnny Depp saved that movie for me.

Dead Man's Chest kicks all sorts of ass though.

Also, Waking Life is a terrible, terrible movie.

Yeah, so I watched this movie called The Night Watch last weekend. I guess it was Russian or something. Anyway, I had remembered hearing mention of a graphic novel with the same name from you guys, so I'm guessing they're related. Yeah, anyway, I was kind of disappointed by it. Hopefully the books are better, which they usually are. Even though the movie had a complete story, I just felt they could've done more with it. The Night Watch themselves seemed very, ineffective to me. For people with special powers, they didn't seem all that special to me. As I said, I think they could've done more with it. *shrugs*

The problem i had with Pirates, wasnt just that there was a cliffhanger. It was the combination of that and how the movie has very little story development. If they had more story and then left on a cliffhanger, i wouldnt have had a problem with it.

So the movie was pretty pointless. They could've probably combined PotC 2 an 3 into one movie.

What are you talking about?

The whole last hour or so had insane character development and took the storyline into a completely unexpected direction. It's definitely the Empire Strikes Back of the series so far.

It's just a popcorn movie. You go to theater, you sit down and you are entertained for the better part of two hours. If you're expecting it to cause some sort of renaissance in movies then you're being as deluded as usual.

The actors were great, the storyline had me completely hooked less than 1/4th through the movie, the CG was amazing, the comedy was spot-on, the ending of the movie was intense, etc, etc, etc. I don't know what else I could ask of a $10 movie ticket. By comparison, Superman Returns had not a single one of the elements I mentioned above.

And yeah, let's talk about combining one movie into another movie that hasn't even been released yet.

What a fucking great idea!

I guess the movie wasn't "mature" enough for you.

They made 2 and 3 back to back. That's why they're releasing it so near one another. And about Keith Richard...Jhonny Depp is a friend of him, and he thought that pirates where the 18th century version of Rock Stars...so he based his interpretation on him. Lately, he asked the studios to cast him. He had a surgery some time ago, so he may have some troubles...but he's on the set. If he'll make a cameo appearance, that's another point ;)

I loathed the original Pirates, and am currently running my expectations into the ground in the hopes of actually getting anything other than... underwhelmation out of Dead Man's Chest.

I haven't seen the Pirates 2 movie yet, and for those who are upset with the cliffhanger, it's a freaking trilogy, or course they're going to make a cliffhanger type to earn your goddamned money. There wasn't a trilogy planned when it was first released, I think, so there wasn't any sort of cliffhanger planned. But when they saw the box office figures, two more movies were planned. My brother went to see it out of impulse and he told me it's none-stop fun and silly action, just the type of movie I'd love to watch.

Went to Anchorage, saw Superman Returns, Click, and POTC2

Superman was good, I had low expectations for it so I has not disappointed. 8.5/10

Click was funny, but sad at the same time... I would like to try out the pause function and hit people or fart in there faces that would be fun  7.5/10

POTC2 was as good as everyone said it was. Biggest Cliffhanger in the history of Cliffhangers but thats ok. I thought that Jack was a bit too feminine especially when he runs. and the end sword fight sucked. I also thought that I wouldnt like that crew of you know who but I was surprised of the detail that they put into the crew. 9/10

Thank you sir, may I have another  :whip:
