I saw that preview and am totally stoked.

My lil brothers (8 & 9) are like "who is venom?", hehehehhee.... *evil grin*. Indeed, wait till I tell you about Carnage.
Save the poor kids and give them the Spiderman issues when Venom shows up.

I may or may not increase that amount to $25 in the near future.

I was very sick for the past few days (well today included) which is why i didnt see Superman Returns with my brothers like we had planned. But when they came back from seeing it, they told me i didnt miss anything and that the movie was indeed crap. I really respect my older brother's opinions on movies, people think of me as a person with good taste in film but my older bro is a lot more well informed in his opinions. He, my little brother and I have similar tastes in film so I'm pretty sure I would've disliked it too. I wasnt really looking forward to seeing it, since I wasnt even sure why they had made a remake in the first place. Pretty much everyone has seen the original Superman movie, it made Christopher Reeves internationally labeled as Superman himself.
The first movie told the story of Superman, accurately. Sure he looked a little goofy while he was attempting to fly, the whole "floating slowly" thing didnt portray his speed very well at all. So the only thing they could do better that the originals would be to portray his powers more accurately with the use of modern day special effects. But who cares about special effects when the original has been widely seen (comes on TV all the time, even b4 this new film was announced) and is near perfect, as far as a Superman film goes.
I was never really a Superman fan (much more of a Batman fan), but i did like those first two movies. I'll probably end up watching this new one when it comes on the Starz channel, since it might be decent enough for a watch on a lazy Sunday, though i doubt it would be worth a view in the theater.
P.S. I'll 'accidentally' stab myself for 5 dollars, deal?

Well, you missed one gigantic major fact you would have figured out if you saw it. It's not a remake of any movie at all, and never claimed to be. They wouldn't dare.
It clearly takes place 5 years after the second movie. I was a little confused myself when I saw it, since I thought it was going to be a remake, but I figured it out eventually. The stories are slightly similar because it follows typical Superman formulas, but it's certainly differant enough to not warrent a comparison.
I honestly don't think the first movie was perfect, in fact at times it was laughable. It certainly could have been better, but only minimally and it wouldn't really be nessacary. A remake wouldn't have worked without Reeve, since he easily was the best thing about the film.
However, I think the second film was far superior than all of them, and essentially perfect.
If you are already attatched to the way you think Superman should be portrayed, you probably wouldn't like the movie. That seems to be the pattern.
Anyhow, the rest of this post is cut/pasted from a post I wrote elsewhere.
So, it's 1:40am and I just came back from Superman Returns in 3D. The fact that it was sold out yesterday may have been a fluke because of the holiday, but all the showings sold out today as well! I showed up over a half hour before the film was suposed to start, and there was already a huge line.
And the film had to be dalyed 20 minutes just to seat everyone.
IMAX theaters hold at least twice the capacity in seating as a regular theater.
It's just that popular
Was it worth seeing in 3D? Definitly the sections that they made 3D ultimately kicked 3 times as much ass, especially the jet crash scene. I was more annoyed by what they didn't make 3D, namely the continent-lifting, nor the earthquakes.
They did make the scene of Superboy running through the feilds and discovering his powers 3D, which was actually really cool. They also made at least exactly one flying scene (out of so many) into 3D, but it was the perfect one to do.
One thing I noticed in comparison between this film and the other first 2 films (the only others I've seen) is that we really see more of Superman's powers. In the other films, we see him fly, and we understand he has amazing strength (although it's only kind of shown.) I think we even see the ice/heat breathing. But no laser eyes. We don't get to see the X-ray vision, or hear the super-hearing.
Plus, of course, the flying and everything else was exponentionally more amazing because of the special effects.
I mean, it's just more exciting for the modern veiwer.

I just want to say I saw X-men 3 yesterday, and I may need serious psychic theraphy after this shit...but at last, they can't possibly make a 4.th movie at this point!

Lets hope they dont.
But since X3 made so much money that not even Superman will make as much, they will get greedy someday and make X4: The Comeback of X-men!....

I'm fine with another X-Men if Ratner doesn't direct. X3 was fun, but plotwise it was dumb. It was loaded with special effects, more action than the previous two though. I do love saying 'I'm the Juggernaut bitch'.

Agreed about not minding another X.men movie, as long as the hack that is Ratner stays way clear of it. Such a clueless bozo that fucked up the simple task of making a coherent plot as much as one can possible do.
Not to mention he couldnt decide what to do with some characters, so he instead decided to give everyone 6 seconds cameos all over the place, screwed up.

Read in the papers theyre going to make a movie now named "Wolverine".
So you could say its kind of the fourth part of X-men
And on a sidenote about Superman, havent seen the new movie but in the old ones you do see Superman use his laser vision. I mean in the second (or is it the third one) when the ones from his homeplanet comes to earth and raise hell on earth they use the laser like 50 times.

And it's not going to be a sequel. A prequel, more like it. I've read the script (it appeared in the internet). If they follow that script, the movie is going to be gooooooooooooood...

It doesnt have anything with X-men its about him and "his past".
They even saved some villains for him like Sabertooth.

The ending of PotC: Dead Man's Chest was so open ended, I just couldnt believe that the credits were rolling. Literally nothing gets solved and you're left with the questions of how the hell this one guy came back from the dead.
They really should've ended the movie at a more suitable point in the storyline. The movie was good overall, though.
Don't wait through the credits for the last scene. It's a waste of time. If you want to see it just watch it here.

Pirates kicked ass.
BasouKazuma doesn't understand the concept of a cliffhanger.
Johnny Depp is mad hot.
These are all indisputable facts.

Some say I'm a cross between Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp.
Seriously though, Depp has looked the same for like 10 years.

No, you arent the mix of those two, cuz you are too hairy to be either of them, but doesnt mean you arent hot.
Depp is a beast.
Pirates was awesome, me and a bunch of friends drank captain morgan in pirate costumes and went to see the movie. It was great, we were annoying, cussing, and beligerent like pirates. best fucking way to see pirates.

BasouKazuma, seems to me that you dont know what a trilogy is...
every 2nd movie or book in a trilogy always leaves with an open end ending.
