You're talking about beat'em ups?

The genre died a long time ago. There are a few games that are trying to keep it alive, but they all suck.

EDIT: Beat me to it.

EDIT2: Try not to post in this thread anymore. It has become something of a mess and I think it's better if we have a different topic for every title. Don't think twice about starting a new thread about a game you want to talk about (not just fighters either), in fact, I encourage you to do so.
I know that the genre died sadly but with games like MK:SM and the new Final Fight and Urban Reign maybe the genre will be back to live if those games make so that people start making more games in the genre.

Buriki ONE should be remade or should have a sequal.
I have been trying to do some research here and there on the Hyper 64. Is Buriki ONE the only good game on the machine?? I here it is fantastic and you are obviously a big fan of it. Is there any thing at all that is worth any time other than Buriki ONE?

I mean..if you're a really big fan of FF and Sam Sho...but those games were horrible to me. Buriki ONE is the only worthy game to me.

It's become apparent now that letting this thread die was a bad idea on my part. There's a lot of small stuff in the genre that probably don't deseve their own threads and that was part of the reason why this thread was here. That was also something I failed to acknowledge.

With that out of the way, I'm giving this another bump. Post whatever you want about fighting games, but if you think there's a game that's popular enough to deserve its own thread, then go ahead and make one for it so that it doesn't drown out other potentially smaller discussions here.

PS: Darken is insane for not liking Samurai Shodown.

I get it.

You were talking about Hyper 64 games in particular.

Never played any of them.

There's a KOFXI thread already, so keep that kind of stuff over there.

What I'm trying to do here, is to have the big games get their own threads, and to leave the rest of the stuff here.

Wanted to take the time to say that the port of NGBC was disappointing... It almost feels as if Microsoft paid off SNKP to make a bad port of the game so that the 360's version would seem better to the Japanese public...thus, they have to purchase a the system for the better copy.

Seriously for a game such as NGBC you should have to wait 13-17 seconds for 1 match to load. that's almost 3 times the amount of load time found in the arcade version.

I still like the game, it's just that there are so many things that could have been better with the game. Seriously, when you have 5 people on a rotation, that 13-17 second load time makes things slow paced.

I doubt MS had anything to do with bad load times. It is probably because it was rushed.

I heard about the load times.

They're just unacceptable, especially when Capcom can get 3rd Strike running with zero load times whatsoever.

As far as the whole MS thing is concerned, I really doubt that had anything to do with it. Last I heard, KOF and SNK games in general were doing well in the arcade market, but they're not going to move consoles.

Inferior port.

That's all there is to it.

I think the load time issue started with the SSV port, which is weird, because both '00 and '01 were neo games too and those PS2 ports had zero load times.

Fuck optical media is what I say.

Bring back cartridges.

Do you think they are just rushing the ports too soon for the load time issue, or do you think there is nothing they can do about it like a hardware issue? I don't know, but I will wait and see how NGBC is on the 360.

Oh and, giant ass Neo carts for life.

3rd Strike on the PS2 has no load times whatsoever, there's no reason for NGBC to need 15 seconds to load a fight.

It's just sloppy programming.

Yeah, me too.

I'm waiting for a price drop though, there's no way I'm paying full price for it.

It's aight. I am a big SC fan and they did some funky shit with a lot of the characters. They helped some, hurt some. And I don't like the fact that they changed the GI back to the way it was in SC1.

Interview with Fatcoon.

Q: Is KOFXII in development?
A: It's just begun.

Q: Are [you] doing artworks for Card Figthers DS, and how far is the game in development?
A: [I'm] doing some. Development's at 2% (laughs)

Q: Are there plans to release a soundtrack for the [KOF's] short anime?
A: We didn't do the music. It's done by the person that did Gran Turismo, so we don't know.

Q: What about a sequel for Garou MOW?
A: It was about 70% done back in the old SNK, but whether it'll be released is undecided.

Q: Will NBC2 come out?
A: It's undecided. It will depend on NBC's sales for the PS2, so please buy it (laughs

Q: [I've] heard that Rock can't come out in KOF?
A: Terry is in his MOW costume, so we have plans to use him as well.

Q: Will Ash's flames be red in KOFXII? Will Iori still come out?
A: For Ash, it's undecided. Iori is undecided too, but he needs to come out since he's a popular character.

Q: [I've] heard that Rugal has a young brother, but will he ever come out?
A: He has a young brother. Whether he'll ever appear is undecided.

Q: Will characters from KOF Kyo ever be used again?
A: That's undecided.

Q: Will KOF98 be released as an online collection?
A: We have plans of releasing it like 94RE. We also have something in mind for 2002.

Q: Will there be a male version of Days of Memories (KOF cell phone dating sim)?
A: Yes. Please look forward.
