Well, if my chaos theory ravings are correct, then Guts can get others "outside the story" , right? We shall see, I guess.Istvan wrote:Who do you mean by everyone? I'll point out that most people would be totally useless, since in SK's words, only people who are "outside the story" can possibly fight a God's Hand.
What is good?-Whatever augments the feeling of power, the will to power, power itself, in man.
What is evil?-Whatever springs from weakness.
What is happiness?-The feeling that power increases-that resistance is overcome.

Sure, but he hasn't been gathering so many that I'd give it an unqualified "everyone". Maybe "everyone in Gut's party", or something, but simply the word "everyone" seems to have much broader connotations.Well, if my chaos theory ravings are correct, then Guts can get others "outside the story" , right? Everyone meaning everyone within the scope of the story. Everyone thats a name and a face you know what I mean. OK yeah we could say that against gods that "everyone" wouldn't be useful.
I just can't see it being Gats doing all this on his own much longer. He may be in his 20s age wise. But his body has to be approaching late 40s. lol

If we look at how long SK has been fighting, it seems clear that age is not necessarily something that will stop Guts. I occasionally speculate that the brand might prevent ageing in those who recieve it. It's a incredibly powerful magic, designed to dedicate the suffering and death (and soul, of course) of the bearer to evil. Minor things like old age, and the peaceful death it can grant, might not be allowed to interfere. It would certainly be one explanation for how SK has stuck around so long. But even if this turns out not to be true, Sk is proof that there is some way to get around aging.
And I really doubt that most of the people we meet (who tend to be fairly useless, if you think about it) in this manga are going to somehow start fighting the God's Hand, or even have any way to do it. The God's Hand are just way too impressive for that.

Hm, that theory is quite interesting. So, their flesh is preserved for when the eclipse happens, the apostles are able sink their teeth into some fresh meat. It's speculated that Guts has above-human willpower due to his brand, so that's actually quite possible.Istvan wrote:If we look at how long SK has been fighting, it seems clear that age is not necessarily something that will stop Guts. Well, I think the rest of the people in the manga are just cannon fodder. Perhaps they can have some luck hanging out with Guts.

Yeah, Flora's mansion lay on the interstice (the border of the astral world), so she was able to prolong her life substantially. Thanks to the brand Guts remains in the interstice permenantly, but I don't think that prevents him from aging altogther. If you ask me, it looks like he's matured quite a bit since the eclipse, though this could just be down to a change in the art.
Perhaps but SK is mystery himself. He has at a point at which he can just waive his hand and slice apostles (and Zodd) like birthday cakes. I'm sure he was bad ass when he was alive. Or could he have found some sort of power and or item to make him as effective as he is? He has already moved on from the Berserk armor and Puck has said already that he has a fairy's scent.Istvan wrote:If we look at how long SK has been fighting, it seems clear that age is not necessarily something that will stop Guts. At this point right now everyone is like an appetizer. Though by the I really don't see it remaining as such.

I think MrFelony's explanation is probably closer on that one, even if he is still aging. As he points out, it's only been a year or two. That's plenty of time for his body to develope do to constant fighting and stress, but incredibly short for him to actually show signs of aging.Yeah, Flora's mansion lay on the interstice (the border of the astral world), so she was able to prolong her life substantially. Part of his ability to chop up Apostles may be do to his inhuman nature, but a lot of it could just be extreme skill. Guts is already able to fight with Zodds human form as an equal. Imagine what he might be able to do with a thousand more years of development, fighting against Apostles. SK has had a lot of time to get very, very good.Perhaps but SK is mystery himself. I think you left out a word there. By the what?Though by the I really don't see it remaining as such.

Wasn't it to disinfect in Gats' case?Istvan wrote:How much does Guts actually drink anymore? Of course, I suppose being horribly wounded on a regular baises might have a similiar effect...Drinking does that.

I think the next chapter comes out tomorrow actually. Or today in Japan good ole international timeline.

After months w/o Berserk, now 2 chapters, and ch. 282 is tomorrow
It nice to see Griffith and his Neo-Hawks back in action. Still eagerly waiting for the fight between Griffith and Emperor of Kushan.
It is only me or it is kind of ....um....magical....seeing Griffith leading armies from...different species. There is giants, human, metal knights, and monster (the armies led by Zodd). I wonder if there is special meaning or that KM want to portray something by showing that Griffith is being follow willing by soldiers from ...many species.
I kind of want to see more Griffith's story, and I kind of want to see Guts (kind of miss him after all these months). But I have nothing to complains, because Berserk is back and will stick around for many years to come
