Exactly what Quest said. By "the same goes for the other one", she meant that Gutts would have to make the same choice. Also, in the notes, what she said could mean partner or opponent, so don't take the "other" thing too far.

Nah if he really hated Zodd as he does most apostles he will kill him next chapter when Zodd is hurt but i dont think so cause Zodd is his real rival. You dont kill your rival when he is already down, you wait for him to recover.
If we look at what Guts has gone through in the last few chapters, I don't think he's any better off, and quite possibly is worse off (especially since he doesn't regenerate nearly as fast) so it could just as easily be Zodd choosing to spare him (and making all the other Apostles wandering around the area do the same) until Guts recovers. That would also explain how they manage to leave the area when there combat power is pretty much exhausted, and there still seem to be several Apostles around.

I wouldn't be surprised if Guts was flung forwards and smashed onto a building or something like that. NO SEATBELTS!
Guts is possibly in a worser condition than Zodd, as a human rather than an apostle.

I've looked through it several times and it seems pretty obvious to me that Guts and Zodd landed in the water...skidding into the warf... yet everyone keeps saying they crashed on the ground. It could be that the crew finds guts but not Zodd... I don't think apostles would drown so he'll be fine....they just won't find him.
imho Zodd will sink while guts was probably flung off... Zodd will live and so will Guts and neither will have the chance or opportunity to spare the other since both are so beaten up.

Good job lads;)
btw do you remember that Griffith can not be touched by conventional weapons, since he resides not on this plane (episode when the reborn Griffith and Co first engaged battle with Kushians), but in this chapter its obvious that Guts can reach and maybe kill him..
I thought that was cause he waved em away with his David Copperfield powers...

Do you have anything useful to contribute? I've seen you post in other threads like this and it is damn annoying. Either contribute something meaningful or don't post.

Well, I suspect he'd grab a horn or something, but we'll see.

Possibly, but he still ought to be pretty badly hurt by that landing, and that's on top of all the other damage he's already taken. I'm very much with Serpico on this one, when he commented that it won't be pretty when Guts takes that armor off.

I hope Guts is still up to fighting Zodd, that would be an interesting battle in their current conditions

it would either be a weak slap fight or a fight like at the end of "House of Flying Daggers" when they are just slashing at each other without even trying to block. ^_^ That was a great fight...
Also, doesn't Guts still have a giant hole from one of those whalephants? I could have sworn I remember seeing like a tooth through him at one point in the last few chapters.

For a late comment, I didn't think that would happend whatever the situation. Good for phoenix who saw something like that coming.
I'm waiting to see what Miura does with this, can turn either way. I was honestly not impressed too much with Guts standing pointing the DragonSlayer like that, I mean he could have swing it or something. Imagine the Zodd train coming at you, with a Dragonslayer swing waiting for you. Oh well a pinpoint attack was needed I guess.

Okay, my internet's been cacked out for a few days, so pardon the lateness of this, but, thanks! Evil Genius, you guys rock! I tried to post days ago, but...well, technology hasn't always been my friend...
Anyhow...
Is it strange of me to want to see Guts and Zodd putting aside their differences and becoming genuine friends? I mean, I know that doesn't seem very likely right now, given their respective histories, but I can't help but notice a)the very many similarities the two's lives have right about now, and b)the grudging respect the two have for one another. I look at the two of them, and I see this: both part of a larger group of people (things?) with whom they share very, very, VERY little in common with united for at least one common goal (think about it: Guts and his current companions really don't have much of anything in common - they all follow him for different reasons, and at least two of them, Ishidoro and Farnese, want to follow him because they want to become like him), and neither does Zodd have really have anything in common with any of the other Apostles - he was actually actively recruited by Griffith while everyone else just flocked to him as a matter of course); both extremely skilled fighters who will do ANYTHING to win a fight; both unwilling to bow down in the face of crazy odds but willing to do anything for people or ideals they care about/respect; both not harming (for the most part) people who cannot defend themselves; both extremely principled about the courses of action that they'll take. And if you really think back, Zodd is the one apostle who Guts has never been shown to actively want to kill (unless it was for self defence waaay back from when they first met), and Guts was someone who Zodd spared/saved on numerous occasions. I honestly see Zodd as one of the only Apostles who Guts could sincerely have an actual relationship, in much the same way that Guts and Griffith were friends before...well, y'know.
It's a stupid fanboy wish to have, maybe, but I want to see the two of them fight together rather than against each other (barring one final Fist of the North Star-esque showdown to see who'd come out on top). Anybody else feel this way, or is it just me?

If Zodd wasnt you know a being that are the reason Guts live so he can kill them, they would become pretty good friends.
Now they will end up killing eacother.

I think Guts does admire Zodd.Do you guys remember when Guts was invading some castle(forgot the name),and meet Zodd first time.Guts was terrified and defeated. From that time he began training and Zodd became his rival. What I want to say Guts could not kill Zodd because he admires him in someway, and probably predict that Zodd helped him once(against boscogne) that's my opinion.

If you think about it, Guts and Zodd have similar dreams. When Guts leave sthe Hawks he decides that his dream is in his sword - to swing ti for himself and get stronger. Zodd just lives to fight stronger and stronger enemies. In that way both of their lives are aimed towards getting stronger.
Zodd was probably very like Guts before he became an Apostle, and sees a lot of his past self in Guts, and admires him because Guts has strength whilst still being human, whereas he gave up his humanity to get stronger.

Friends? I don't think Zodd's an Apostle you can drink with. His friends come at the heat of battle. Then one of them dies...mostly the one that isn't Zodd.

All the times that Zodd helped him out were in part to save Griffith since he was the soon to be God-hand i thought. though it could have been from his selfish urge to fight him again one day, especially since he didnt come to join Griffith at first

It was cause he wanted to fight him again, the only human that was worth fighting.
I dont think Zodd is psyhic who knew Griffith would become Femto.

I think is a mixture of both things. Zodd helped Gatts because of Griffiths but also becase he admires Gatts. Just because he's still alive and he killed so many apostles being only a human.
Every apostle has that "arrogance" about them, but Zodd is a bit less than the others.
I don't think Zodd see himself in Gatts. Zodd sacrificed someone to be the immortal warrior? To be the one who fights forever? That isn't like Gatts. Gatts wants Griffith dead (not right now, but that is the greater reason), and he didn't sacrificed anyone
In my opinion, Gatts is something "amusing" to the God Hand and the apostles, but Zodd sees something else. He knows that someone like him cannot be their downfall, but he could be quite the rock in their shoes. And there's some respect for him. He'll only kill him in a fair fight.
Gatts, on the other hand...I think Gatts would kill Zodd if he didn't need him. Yeah, sword on the neck and stuff. Gatts is a more pratical / less honored fighter. He knows his adversaries are demons, he can't really give them a chance. So, if the situation comes, where Zodd is hurt on the ground, and Gatts is with the Dragon Slayer in hand, and he has a chance to kill him...he'll kill him. Quickly.
I don't know, Gatts hates Apostles too much. Even Zodd.

How in the world could Zodd know who Griffith would become?
He would react when he saw with Guts if he knew or would say something.
Guts hates Zodd just cause of what he is but he also must respect him after all thier fights.

I'm sure Zodd knew what Griffith would become since he saw Griffith first time with egg of an emperor(crismon behelit).Which belongs to God Hand he sed.And thought Griffith would become the fifth God Hand.
