Gotta get a Wii now. They're showcase has been alot more pleasing than the other 2 dudes. A year ago I thought that dumb ass controller was the stupidist, most gimmickiest shit I've see. Now I think it's about to hand every their asses. I think Sony even saw it coming so they had to apply it to their controller, which I don't mind at all, but the Wii's controller design is ingenious.

How much did they say a Wii will be?

Anyway, as was discussed at Ayanami's house a bit ago..., Nintendo/Wii FTW E3.

Sony announced what we all expected for the most part, and from what I saw didn't introduce anything spectacular and mind-blowing. MGS for PSP, yes but it's not horribly unexpected.

Microsoft had the same showing, except for gaining rights to GTAIV: Let's Kill Some Gang Members. I like the GTA games but didn't see this to be such a big deal.

Look at what Nintendo did. Starfox, Yoshi's Story, Kirby all coming for the DS. Tons of phenomenal launch titles for Wii, like Twilight Princess (OK, we saw that coming for Wii but I didn't expect launch), Dragon Quest, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy and WarioWare: Smooth Moves. These are at launch, kids. Amazing.

The rush of great DS games coming has convinced me to go to GameStop tomorrow to pre-order my DS Lite. It's just gotta happen.

EDIT: According to a Macworld article Wednesday morning, we still have no specific release date or price for the Wii. All we know is that it'll be 4Q06 and the rumor is $250 console price.

I think the Wii would win with $300...but if it's $250... Sony and Microsoft are in for a rough ride.

I wouldn't pay $300 for a Wii, $250 tops.

I'm pretty sure it'll cost around $200 though, which would be perfect.

The graphics aren't that bad either.

People are touting it as a "Gamecube on steroids," but the games look noticeably better than their predecessors.

Wii isn't going to win. Here is how I see this generation panning out...

MS will gain marketshare in the States. With the $600 pricetag for the 'real' system (ignore the bundles you guys keep talking about), Sony helped this one along a bit. Sony will still 'win' in overall marketshare I think, but by a lot less of a margin than in this (Xbox/PS2/GC) generation.

Nintendo with the Wii will take marketshare from this generation overall. The pricetag (call it $300 for pessimest's sake) makes it work oh so much better. Sony and MS are going to be surprised.

I'd say, given what we've heard out of E3 announcements so far, that Sony will take 40% in the States, MS with 30-35% and Nintendo with 30-25%. These are of course rough estimates.

MS is screwed in Japan. Just give up the ghost, focus on your home market. Develop your brand here so you have the instant boost that Nintendo and Sony does on their home shores.

Oh, and European gamers are screwed no matter what. Sorry guys.

Quoted for truthiness. Ayanami and I were talking about this earlier. The graphics don't look that bad! They're certainly better than the 'cube.

Nintendo is not competing with Sony or Microsoft.

Period.

They've been saying this for the longest of times but it's finally started to make sense.

The way I see it, people will go for either a PS3 or a 360 and then they'll get a Wii on top of that.

Keeping a low price point is part of this strategy.

It looks like Capcom got fed up with the Drag-on Dragoon team and Capcom of USA trying to make a decent beat'em up and told the Okami team to own them. It would have been nice to see this running on PS3 hardware, but the gameplay looks so good at the moment that I don't really care.

Yeah, I was going to post earlier that I'm probably goign to pick up a PS3 and a Wii. I'm just glad that some companies are still focusing on changing the ways that games can be played.

You know what would have won the E3 for me...."Kentaro Miura will be the lead Character Designer and Writer for FFXIII." Heh....I just had a dream about that last night for some reason.

While all the next-gen consoles certainly looks appealing, I would personally spend money on Wii if that's definitely their launch price. I'm definitely loving what I see from E3 and the launch titles looks hawt.

They/you can say this til they're blue in the face and it doesn't matter - they're competing. They are a gaming console on the market, that's competition. While Nintendo may be aiming at another market segment than Sony or MS, they're still competing with them. It's like saying Kia and Ford don't compete. While Kia has a different market segment, they still compete with Ford since Ford offers a car or two similar to Kia.

I wasn't doing a huh about the broke comment. How do you know Snake is broken and the game is lame when you've watched a trailer? Also, there are TONS of videos around of the Wii controller. Kotaku has one that should still be on their main page.

Well, he didn't really call you a fanboy, he said your sig was fanboyish, because it's completely loving PS3 and totally shunning Wii.

I have to admit, Sony didn't really have much to offer from the videos I've watched of E3 so far. All the hard core gamers cried foul when PS3 was revealed to have wireless controllers, just like Wii does. Heh, Plagarism 3.

Try to take it with sarcasm. Its solid snake, the legend, the man that beat metal gear, the man that enjoys a cigar even in the heat of a battle. Snake's ablility to do pull ups and gain a level in endurance. Snake and his tranq gun is complete brokeness.

Damn... why must i be in college and have no money... i think that is why the wii will be bought, low income college students with Smahs Bros mayhem.

i live so close to LA and i dont get to go inside the damn LA convention center, shit i was in downtown LA last friday... fucking guards asking for badges and IDs.
