i liked it. good job.

i found this one after i saw yours. i thought it was pretty good. for some reason i hadn't seen it when i searched youtube earlier. its the linkin park one. it had really bad video quality, but the timing and relevance it good.
i think people should see it if they haven't yet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9BaWTz8 ... ed&search=

finally saw the mad world one. only applied a little i think. it was okay at making berserk seem more somber and sad. except when the song says running in circles, i wish they'd put in the part where young griffith is running in that circle. not like directionally a circle, the frame of the short was a circle. (then turned into his eye while zooming out i think)

also, respect to susumu hirasawa. no explanation needed.

Arctic Nightfall has had the lyrics for "Forces" up for some time...Not certain what or who, their source is, but here they are.

Forces [Translated]
Written and Performed by Hirasawa Susumu

Like a build-up of clouds,
the battle is joined in waves
When it's over, we creep along the dark street,
answering the voices

I don't forget about you
It's an impossible path, yet I tread it alone

Like a defeated bird, we gracefully endure the rain

We sleep after washing
in the blood of the unhealed ground
Stars! Tell about the grandness
of this night!

I don't forget about you
When I'm all alone in the freezing night

The unceasing voices now have a renewed strength

Hai Yai Forces Hai Yai Forces

Listen! Even the wind cries
at the soaring tower of shadow
Being defeated, we creep along the dark street;
I turn on the light for you.

I don't forget about you
It's an impossible path, yet I tread it alone

Go away, loquacity! Shadow, come and be guided!

I actually stumbled on this AMV about a week ago. I don't think that anyone has posted it yet (if so, I'm sorry but I couldn't watch the vids' at work) but it's my favorite. Funny as hell, reminds me of the Outtakes or a Monty Python & the Holy Grail-esque Berserk musical lol. Don't just give up on it when you realize the tone...give it a chance, it's different & overall, pretty entertaining

Right after that, I found the Silver Fins vid' for "Waiting So Long"...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa7ehl7xVVY

Psi, I couldn't agree with you more. Hirasawa IS a genius. I uploaded a vid' of him performing "Forces" (1.5 version) for any that want to see

hmm, may not be quite the right thread to ask this, but since Hirasawa was mentioned and praised here I figure why not: Does anyone know where I can get my digital hands on some Hirasawa albums?

I have quite a few albums I can give you. It took me years to get my hands on a good deal of mp3's, beyond the Berserk OST ugh...at the time, there wasn't much available online, let alone actual import cd's. The one place I did find them, had a huge collection of almost all of his works to date (4 years ago or so), but it was over $300 that I didn't have.

Nowadays, it seems they're more readily available, but it's probably best to just get them from his site directly http://s-hirasawa.com/e/ I've picked up quite a few mp3's from there as well. But if you'd like some mp3's & or, videos to get a feel for some of his albums, feel free to catch me on AIM & I'll take care of you  Be sure to check out the link I posted a few posts back, for the Forces 1.5 video

Thanks for the info and the offer Starlore! Sortep said he would hook me up with some albums too, so I'm getting ready for some Hirasawa goodness. I had seen a Forces video with Hirasawa in it before, but I'm not sure if it's the same as the link up there (I get a message saying it's a private video or something) Love the Silver Fins vid though. I might end up buying an album or two of theirs just out of curiousity about their general sound. ...unless someone has some mp3s to tide me over (other than "waiting so long")

eek, sorry about that Mystic...try the link now, should work >.<

I usually have to hear a few Mp3's before I buy an import album, but the Silver Fins have completely eluded me. I love "Waiting so Long" but that's all I've ever been able to find. If you decide that you want to scoop them up, here's the album info & a link for one of the few sites listing them...

"Pigment" (album)

"Powder" (single; "Waiting so Long" is track 2)

"Hollywood" (album)

Thanks Starlore, the link works now, and I must say it's pretty interesting. This guy is so out there! His whole setup boggles my mind. I also downloaded one of the more recent mp3s from his site titled "The Westward of Time", which has become one of my favorite tracks of his that I've ever heard. If I ever do snag a Silver Fins album, I'll be sure to share ^_^

I came across these Berserk outtakes yesterday and even if they didn´t even tried to make a half-assed job with the voices and the characters, it still is pretty hilarious in some parts plus we have griffith singing.

Outtakes are great. Did anyone else notice that Gaston was voiced by the guy who does Goku, heh. I think the guy that did Gatts' voice had the best jokes. Although the narrator was pretty funny too. Hearing the American voices again makes me feel like I should go into the business myself. I swear, the bar is so much lower here than it is in Japan. What do you guys think?

I've been wanting to ask for a long time: does anyone have a translation of Forces?
English Translation
Toki wa kumo o tsuku yoo na nami o tate osou yo
Kesarete yomichi o hau koe tachi ni kotaete

Time assaults us with towering waves
I answer to the fading voices trolling the night roads

Wasure wa shinai Kimi no koto wa
Kanawanu michi ni Nao hitori tachi

I will never forget about you
On this road of unfulfillment, I still stand alone

Utareta tori no yoo na Yuugasa de ame ni tae

Like a wounded bird, I endure the rain with grace

Ienai chijoo no chi ni arawarete nemuru
Hoshi yo soozetsu ni Monogatare Kono yoru o

Awash in the blood of the wounded earth, we sleep
Oh stars, grandly recount the events of this night!

Wasure wa shinai Kimi no koto wa
Kogoete yoru o Tada hitori iki

I will never forget about you
I simply exist alone in this freezing night

Kienai koe yo ima Yomigaere Chikara e to O

unfading voices, revive now to your full strength!

Hai Yai Forces Hai Yai Forces (twice) Hai Yai Forces Hai Yai Forces

Kike yo Kaze sae naki Sobietatsu Kage no tô
Utarete yomichi o hau kimi ni hi o tomose yo

Listen, o soaring tower of darkness, at which even the wind cries
Shed light on you, wounded and trolling the night roads

Wasure wa shinai Kimi no koto wa
Kanawanu michi ni Nao hitori tachi

I will never forget about you
On this road of unfulfillment, I still walk alone

Yuke yo Jôzetsu no kage yo kite Michibike

Go forth! O loquacious shadows, come and guide me!

Hai Yai Forces Hai Yai Forces
Hai Yai Forces Hai Yai Force

THIS IS THE REAL TRANSLATION OF THE SONG AS YOU CAN SEE!

No, I can't see...why? cause 'I' am not Hirasawa & 'I' didn't translate it  . But all things considering (i.e.--me being a cynical & bored bitch  ), & i could be wrong about this--but I believe translations aren't ever 'exact' unless done by the artist or speaker specifically. It's only ever an "interpretation" as it's simply meant to relay a point or concept--not always a word-for-word, literal representation.

...Like assholes & opinions, they're in overabundance. True, the words may not be -exactly- the same, but personally, I see them both making the same point, so I'm trying to understand why I had to read a second version of the same song just now, claimed as being "THE REAL TRANSLATION", as if the others were wayyyyyy off? :?:

*Sighs sadly, because reading between the lines is now a dead art in this world that takes things so literally*. For your entertainment, I'll piggy-back the lyrics for the sake of comparison, w/Arctic Nightfall's in ()'s

Note:(last line is the only one i see that really stands out w/any difference, but this could potentially even be due to human error/typo)
