Hmm, well, whatever. It still seems they haven't put out too many good mangas.
and I don't inherently mind romance, it just has to be quality storytelling.
Fuji: for a non-shojo realistic romance manga you might want to look at Dance till tomorrow. Ok, so it's a teeeny bit hentai, but only 99% explicit, and it's good storytelling nonetheless.

okaaaay. so.....Bajiquan had the most correct answer yet-!
clamp consists out of four female mangaka.
sadly i know this from years of my friends hammering it into my head...
but to put it better heres the overall info froma site:
CLAMP is a team of four women who create manga. Their manga series are often made into anime after release. More than 88 million CLAMP tank?bon copies have been sold worldwide.
CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member d?jinshi circle called Amarythia. The former members of CLAMP include Tamayo Akiyama, Soushi Hisagi, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Inoue Yuzuru, Sei Nanao, Shinya Ohmi and Leeza Sei. By 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven and their name had changed to CLAMP. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group over the course of RG Veda's production, leaving the current four members.
Current CLAMP members:
Ageha Ohkawa
Mokona
Tsubaki Nekoi
Satsuki Igarashi
so if any of you wanted to know mroe about shojo...
chobits is right around the beginning of the CLAMP movement to more outwordly riske manga. kidna to make u think " is this shonen or shojo?". chobits had a male for a main character. most of the time, this means its a shonen. but it was a romance more than anything, right? ( but with all the porn ref. and the half naked android..ect..)
later manga like "legal drug" ( which, btw, i thought was ALL about pot, cuz the fucking icon for the manga was a pot leaf...it not though..(yaoi)) made it even harder to find the line. all in all, shojo is mostly a waste of time, but on occation can be readable.
and also, dance till tomarrow... ive read a little in that one old magazine..not animerica exra..not smile...i think it was called like "phoenix" or something. it had some junji ito stuff so i was all over it.
anyways, i never really got into it, but maybe ill take a second look. ^.^

CLAMP also do "tsubasa: reservoir chronicle" which I have to say that I like a lot, the rest i haven't read/ are crap

but u can only understand tsubasa if u read/liked many of the other CLAMP mangas. Tsubasa used characters from many of their other comics, so if u like tsubasa, u must like clamp's other stuff.

I've decided to sticky + necro this thread because of the recent condensation of the amount of threads displayed per page, I don't want this thread to be lost and forgotten. And plus, there was some uproar about necroing earlier, so this thread is just one of the very few that is allowed to be necroed, and will never get lost in the sea of dead threads.
Any mod that disagree can unsticky it immediately without discussion. Reading the omake takes me back to the days...good memories...

I'd unsticky it, but I love you too much to do it.

When you mean 'soon', it actually means never, doesn't it?

Now I know why LOTR had three movies instead of one. The fucker got lost between different worlds and dimensions. That guy has no sense of direction.
