Ooops. I remember the flaming for other newbies and the instructions to post on a newbie thread.

I misread the topic titles when I posted. This was meant for the other thread.

I was pondering something, would Guts seem like the anti-hero? Griffith fits the Hero role as in the charismatic person, who anyone would follow him even blindly due to the shining light of the man's own self. Guts has the downright nastiness of the badass, but he treasures his friendships. His comrades and everyone he atcually takes into his sort of inner-circle. Guts is the hero, but is he the anti-hero, anti-hero usually has the polar opposites of a regular hero and Guts fits it perfectly.

I am wondering other's opinions on the matter what would he fit most and why?

anti-hero?

maybe not, but he is not that conventional everyday hero you would expect...very much like Spawn I must say

and that's g00d, very g00d

I see Griffith as the anti-christ kinda role.

In the Bible it is said the anti-christ will win over the hearts of the common folk and bring about peace. But then reign with terror.

Which is what I see with Griffith.

Another interesting note, but not too big. In the Bible there is a quote that Jesus would come back from the dead after the end of the 7 year reign of the anti-christ and he would carry a sword in his mouth and ride on a white horse.

Which remind me of SkullKnight pulling a sword out of his mouth and he is always on horse. But of course the horse isn't white, but it's armor is. :P

interesting point of view

so what if Skull Knight is actually the white hawk?

Guts is the ultimate anti-hero even he is more "moral" than then he was earlier.

But doesn't it say in vol26 i think it was that Griffith is the Hawk of Darkness. So they point this out, so I think your opinion on Griff being sort of the anti-christ like character has some truth to it.

Yeah now that you mentioned it they do share some characteristics. So the brings me to another point, would that mean that Guts is like jesus, but in a very unconventional way. Maybe 7 years of terror, but enough to get him cut down by a giant sword heh

I came to this forum via Google a quite ago, and have been downloading chapters from here - earlier volumes I downloaded from IRC, forgot which channel btw =)

And I don't intend to post much here, quite lazy and busy, but I really want to thank the Evil Genius team for their super work on the releases - both editing and translating jobs - (Oro, Eldo, Starnum, Wandering Mystic ... sorry if I miss a few members); together with Psi ( I could do 11 psi with my car now  ) for allowing lurkers like me to download Berserk here.

some thoughts

i think you guys got wrong, griffith isn't as bad as you say, in fact he is the good guy, and he's nice. But what's gatts? a homocidal killing machine with a lolita complex. just look at his behavior around that little girl.i have heard that he will do her in the next vol. and btw screw the skullknight he is soooo going to die in the next vol. i am sure of it, you wanna know why? because gatts won't mature enough to fight griff unless his mentor passes away, just look at star wars, you can't become really good unless you master dies, and therefore will paddawan gatts have to wait for skullies departure.

hello folks this is my first post!!!

Greetings Mr_Lister.
I think you´ll find this to be a pretty descent place, but you need to realize that Griffith is the evil one.
Furthermore I don´t think Miura looks to George Lucas work to get ideas

well i was joking

There was also a reaaaly big discussion on whether Griffith truly was evil. But I dont know what happened to that thread. Could be in tbe bucket.

evil or not

well, it wasn't like he made the choise to do the evil things he did under normal conditions, he was a broken man who got a chance to get his life back and he took it. but if this has already been thoroughly discussed so be it.
