Was it in DP? or in EG i don't remember such thread but there was so much flaming when the forums was new so i couldn't keep track.

Its so refreshing to think like a newbie, you can think about things you know are BS without feeling shame.

It's here, I think it was in the Interstice or in one of those other obscure threads.

What about Zodd what do you people think about his past?
Where did he came from? How was he when he was human? Who made him a an apostle?
If you guys know facts about Zodd or just speculate.
I like the Zodd name so much that im thinking naming my kid Zodd.
The first Somalian in history to be named Zodd thats for sure

Nobody knows, the only thing that's been given are references that Skull Knight and Zodd has tackled for hundreds of years. No mention about his previous life was in the manga or anime. The only thing we know is that he's really old, a powerful and respected apostle, and Griffith's right hand man.

Then speculate someone of us might guess it right.
I think he was a good man when he was human, a man of justice maybe a soldier, some kind of sheriff.

You should venture outside the Berserk forum and see how you manage in the wilderness.
That was half the point
But yeah, I've thoroughly expunged my thoughts on the subject, so no need for further threat of flaming
(Oh, by the way, for the most part, I was merely defending my original stand point to see if anything useful would come of it.)

about nosferateu (sp?) Zodd, isnt he acutally a known mythical creature? miura has been known to put in historical or things from life in berserk.
berserk world wise, i agree. he is mysterious, and is remaining so, thus far.
your poor kid...

Therein lies your insanity.

Well, as far as I know, the word Nosferatu simply means "vampire". Just another quirky twist on a myth, kind of like calling Puck an elf, when he’s clearly a pixie.

This thread contains all the relevance of your query. I think it's fine if the discussion take place here or in the other thread, I don't mind either, but I'm afraid I can't help you. I think all of the pages are brilliant in its own way.
Well, that thread didnt help me because these are coloured wallpapers suited for monitors. I want many black and white scans to make a huge collage. Someone kind could start a new thread named best berserk scans ever or something like that.

If that's the case, post in the wallpaper or fan art section. Either one is fine, probably fan art for collage if you want. Conversations here tend to deviate from one topic from another, so your query may disappear in time. Don't forget to post your finished product in the thread. We all love to see other people's work.

Provided that you give enough evidence to support your claim, a proper post with disproving facts would be stated to counteract your argument. The harshness of the response depends sorely on the mood and what kind of post you made.

=)
Generally its the very simple thing - with which character does the reader identifies, or which character resonates more. It also represents how deep the reader will be involved in the story and consequentially how many people will like it=)) In my case it was Grifith. The discussion "whose father is stronger" is quite stupid to start with=) Guts and Grifith are very different thus the spectrum of readers which theoretically can be drown in increases. Of course since Guts represents a good and strength and determination he will be closer to majority of people (maybe that’s the reason he is the main character=) but Grifith is also a very powerfully drown (not literally=) so that evil people like me

could feed on theirs vanity…=))

'Who's father is the strongest?' What the hell is that? Since when did we discuss that?
I don't really get what you're trying to say in your post. 'Drown in?' Care to elaborate on that metaphor or something you're trying to explain?

"Drown in" relates to empathy, contiguity with charachter and/or story..
Whos father is the strongest just a simple analogy with sily rivalry in kindergarten =)

Tempest:
The Dragon Slayer was not supernatural when it was first created, but it has been mentioned in the manga that it has gained some supernatural properties because of all the Apostles it has slayed.

I think Griffith has no character development and thats why Guts is the favorite to the majority. Griffith would be boring as the main one.
At least I didn't notice any development. He just kills anything standing in his way to fulfil his dream and cares for nothing else from the beginning until now. Anyone else noticed some ?

Also Griffith is teh evil one
Which brings the majority (like myself) to hate him.

Griffith doesn't have character development? What the heck was all the Golden Age arc? Man, I can surely tell you that Griffith is there exactly because of his dream. He's a better developed character than Guts - which himself is incredibly well developed!
Mr. Miura hardly put on a character without showing us how they are, what are their purposes on life, why they keep on going forward!!! EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE! Man, c'mon, you can't be serious!
Of course we hate Griffith today, he crossed the line of the acceptable for fulfilling his dream, and in that Mr. Miura simply created a far more real villain than most Manga! He's one obsessed about his dream, and as such sacrificed what we learned to love along those 10 chapters (is that, the Golden Age arc?). He's not some demon wanting to destroy the world of men, or some creatures that hunts humanity...he wants to fulfill his dream ... and his dream destroyed Gut's own dream!
Please, I don't want to sound harsh, but Griffith HAS a lot of development, and I think most will agree with me

It really is like that ? Well , then forget what i said. You must been right about that then t.a. .
Edit: I thought of development more like some kind of change in their mind. I ment Griffith is doing the same thing from the beginning to the end and Guts instead is searching for his place in this world, fighting for revenge, make up his mind and protect his loved ones.
I should really think the things through I write down here

Sorry if I was too harsh. I just couldn't control myself
Anyway - Griffith has a dream, and he would make anything to achieve it. Suddenly, Guts come along. He then start to act weird, doing things he shouldn't. Now, Guts made him look away from his dream from time to time...so, he's not exactly like that
Both characters are extremely complex, making their conflict even more real, and enjoyable - good for us

You weren't harsh at all.
But so it's still Guts who brings fresh wind into the story, but I think you are right about Griffith being more complicated than I pointed out. I just thought of Guts child he used for his new body confusing him with "feelings" ,if you could say so, he wouldn't usually have.
