I was looking at the roster my self and saw a lot of my personal favs on the roster. Glad to see that Blue Mary and Vanessa made it.

I'm sure it's going to be a great game...but it looks just like Guilty Gear in terms of the whole set up. Some of the fonts look exactly the same O_O.

Joe has been in every KOF up to XI and in every Fatal Fury except Garou.

Gai has only been in one game.

Nope, I'll take Gai over Joe any day of the week. I'm actually happy that Mai isn't there anymore, she was getting old. Same with Kyo and Iori and them being in every fucking game SNK puts out these days.

I hear that, when I was looking at the roster I thought it was nice that Mai was not in there. I would also like to see some others get the boot, but Kyo and Iori are like god damn Ryu and Ken now in SNK.

I need a clarification here... in KOF2003 Kusunagi is Kyo right?? Just like the same thing on devil jin is still jin in t5?

Nope, Kusanagi was some mirror illusion created by Chizuru, same as Maki Kagura.

Last time I checked, yeah. Devil Jin and Jin I think is a bad example though. You might have been playing a KOF where the clones were playable, and it had that name in it's stead.

From the looks of things I'm guessing Kyo changes costumes after every saga?

Another thing. I don't know why I'm so excited about seing Gai Tendou in a KOF....he's really not that important of a character....but something about him makes him so damn cool.

Kyo, Kyo-1, Kyo-2, Kusanagi are all different from one another and could coexist with one another.

Well I know why I like him. Because he's like Baki pretty much. Almost looks like him too.

Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 were clones though, so they are basically the same person, even if they do coexist. Kusanagi seems like a different character altogether to me, at least he had a different voice actor and different lines.

Did anyone notice the dragon shaped energy beam going inside of Sie? I guess it's probably a power/speed booster LDM. It looks pretty damn cool.

By the way....MOMOMOMKO...or whatever, is a capoeira based character. Why the hell does she have a beam attack. She looks like she's already going to suck to me.

Now that I thought about it she is in the psycho soldiers team. But it's still kind of ridiculous to me and I still think she's going to be garbage. MALIN ALL THE WAY!!!.

I think it's health recovery, like the meat bun DM/SDM he used to have in '98. I don't think he kept it after '99.

But yeah, it's good to see Psycho Soldier Kensou back.

I have to say that I just play the KOFs. I do not know shit about the story. Hell, I don't know shit about any fighters story except for a few snips here and there.

I don't really have any specific links, it's just little bits I've gathered here and there from playing the KOF extensively. It's better if you find this stuff out during actual gameplay though, like in watching all the special intros between characters and whatnot. It's not just the story either, it's the little stuff and the characterization that is awesome too, like Iori being a guitar player or Vanessa and Ramon's love relationship. It sucks, because you know there's an awesome story behind all this people fighting, but they only give you bits and pieces throughout the actual game. I feel the same about Ikaruga or Last Blade for example. KOF is such a richer world than, say, Street Fighter or Tekken because of this.

I will tell you this though, finish '00 with the Benimaru Team and the Hero Team and watch two of the most awesome endings ever made. Specially the Benimaru Team ending, it's fucking intense.

There is also a GREAT Street Fighter story guide in the SFIII 3rd Strike FAQ section. In the storyline faq it would just be easier to go straight down the the characters' synopsis down at the bottom.

King of Fighters 97 Kyo, Iori, Chizuru ending is my favorite thus far.

Looking for the KOF Plot guide right now.

I have noticed the a lot of the little stuff in the KOF series that you speak of. And it does give you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when ya see that kind of stuff.

As for those endings, I will have to go and do that now.

That FAQ RahlX posted is pretty complete as far as information goes. As with most things though, it's better to experience it than to read it. In other words, play the game before reading the FAQ.

Me? Every time I mention the Benimaru or the Hero Team ending of '00, I get a sudden urge to play the game. Here goes nothing.

EDIT: Don't even try to watch those endings in halfnhalf's link. No music, no pacing, no simple animations = no winnar.

Yeah I just looked at the '97 Ending...Just isn't good without the music and seeing Iori's and Kyo's little animations when they go to give Orochi his beat down.

oh yah there is no music, but yah w/e its more of a going back thing to check out what he/she said in the end kind of deal.
