saya is so whiney as usual. nice development for kai.
SPOILERS FOR BLOOD+:
I knew, i just fucking knew that Saya´s blood wouldn´t cut it when she accepted Kai´s request, the Schiff are characters of tradegy in this show, i love it how Irene´s death was so sadistic.
I like Kai, he´s a great character, one that could be emo but it isn´t.
Well, yeah, I liked those eps, too. Kai is coming along nicely from the frustrated lad he was. Saya was - at least - not totally powerless. Once again we find that in anime actual ability is never as important as being determined .

I cant believe they changed her look, she looked awesome in the movie.
I watched a promo and the first episode. I just couldnt stand how they made Saya look like a preppy girl. After that, i just couldnt force myself to watch any more. It really looks like they made it more of a mainstream anime. I also read a little interview with the director or something which gave me less faith in the series eventually picking up later on.
But, once again, I've only seen the first episode.
i did not see the movie so i cant make a comparison.
the plot keeps moving and nothing is stagnant except sai's constant failure to get her act together.
an episode can seem longer can other anime like say one piece or bleach cos they never reuse old scenes or replay them again and again.

The 40 minute long OVA/movie was completely hardcore. Blood+ = slightly hardcore.
That's the problem. I was looking for a hardcore anime, not some wannabe hardcore series.
*Still talking out of my ass.*
Blood + is exactly like Gungrave, the first episode will give you a terrible impression of the rest of the show, altough there is a tribute to the movie in first episode when the school watcher is killed, and yes, Saya is a wimp compred to the movie but has several moments of equal awesome in the show.
I saw Witcblade ep 1 last night, i dont like the mecha guy she fought but her witchblade outfit and how she killed him was awesome. Exactly what i expected actionwise. The story doesnt bad iether the futuristisc messed up.
Finished Shuffle and Karin wishing there was more episodes of these cute series, especially shuffle... I have a thing for elven chicks, I need more cute/ecchi anime with them in it, with spots of comedy.
NARUTO + BLEACH doesn't even come close to the BEST MANGA= ONE PIECE
Ya, 30 was pretty good. But the poing was rather explaining how Karl (?) got (lost)his arm, rather than Haji. Haji may just have kept the Chiroptera arm as a reminder.
The only thing I don't get now is: Why is Saya basically an asian girl, if her mother was found in iceland. And why did Joel, who seems like an established European Jew to me, give her a name like Saya?
Brainpiercing, thanks for point out that karl bit.
i missed it completely!
good questions also. but i doubt we will get answers as they seem more like unintentional plot holes that werent well thought about.
=)
Hmm, we've always discussed shows here for a few posts. Well, now that someone brought up the old blood+ thread.....
Watched Black Lagoon 4+5, those were pretty good. Gotta love the mood and the voice-acting for Levy/Revy, she really makes that character come to life, even though it's only a semi-cardboard hard-boiled chick character. The story is keeping up the mix between semi-serious settings and a progression that does not take itself 100% seriously.
black lagoon = the new cowboy bebop
with less sci-fi and more 21st century pirate action.
but i find it hard to like the salaryman. i suppose he is the main character. he seems so out of place.
