A game fanatic, but I've slowly stopped. Oh, I still enjoy them deeply, but... I can't nor do I have time for it as much.. anymore.
It's a sad twist that my love for the fighting genre is also detrimental to every other aspect of my life. And I still have a life to live.
But that's my personal dilemma, and you should keep your noses out of it.
Regardless, the only other game I can comment on with clarity is Marvel vs Capcom 2. Other then that, I can probably only yak about Q for 3rd Strike. I can't test things out myself because my DC (Dreamcast) is indisposed, so if I comment it's all from my head.

I have a friend that is awesome at Guilty Gear, figured out some mean set ups and shit with Johny. I am not that great at it though, I think the game rather bores me and Sol is just too fucking broke in that game IMO. Reload for the XBOX is not much better with the Slayer improvements, and they also kinda nerfed my favorite character I-No. I am kinda waiting for Slash to come out to try and get good with it because I think ABA or what ever her name is looks freaking sweet.DarkenRahlX wrote:I play Virtua Fighter and Guilty Gear alot. No one on here I believe play either that much.

I don't think that is charge partioning. Because that's what I normally do when someone whiffs something large. I simply hold back the entire time, and release when I perform the medium dashing straight. I managed to find a video on it, and it was even more confusing.Ayanami wrote:First off, charge partitioning, I know of it, but not enough to REALLY elaborate on it. I don't play chargers like Remy or Q seriously enough to master it. But the idea is you can partition the charge into segments so you can do really nasty shit. Try this out for example....
Start a charge for dashing straight, jump toward your opponent and go back to charging, when you are deep enough in the jump land a Fierce Punch, then let go of the charge for a split second to land a standing close Medium Kick, after that you go back to the charge and finally release the charge to land a Medium power Dashing Straight, after that you ling a SAII, and follow up with another Fierce power Dashing Straight.
The Total damage for landing this madness is something like 110, a little more than half bar. I have never really tried to do this, so I am only shooting theory here, but this is supposedly how you pull this shit off. This is a working combo, so if you want to try, be my guest.
It was on Remy; he dashed forward twice and did Guile's flashkick immediately without pause when he reached the opponent. Another piece is where he managed to link several sonic booms in a row while not moving.
Oro and Elena are characters I have trouble playing against.

Does any of you have any guilty gear strategies to share with me? I'm a huge GG fan. I know it's not as technical as the other fighting games, but I'm really in love with the graphics and the rock and roll theme of the whole game.
I'm quite weak in terms of GG (I don't even know how to combo with roman cancels yet). To top it off, my fav chars has the steepest learning curve.
First off, let me share my combos with you.
Slayer:
With full tension - HS, 8, 236236S, HS, 214PK, 63214S.
This combo takes off nearly the whole life bar. If you dont' have full tension, instead of 214PK, 63214S, you can simply use 214PP. That also does insane dmg. This combo takes abit of practice to get right, the timing is not as simple as it looks, but it's a garanteed combo if you get it down, This combo is my bread and butter of slayer, no jokes.
Another good trick with slayer is his 2 Dust atk (2D). The trick is once you trip the guy with ur atk, you quickly dash behind him and 2D again. Rinse and repeat. The opponent will block the wrong way a couple of times before he catches the pattern but it's great dmg none the less.
With my slayer, I play extremely defensive, using perfect guard often, when I am ready to set up my combo, I use burst to obtain full tension and then unleash the combo which, if it connects, results in my win.

One of my combos with Sol requires Full Tension.
I start with Fafnir > Fafnir > Fafnir > Tyrant Rave Version Beta > Dragon Install then Volcanic Viper (do not follow up with the Tatakiotoshi kick) > when you land Gun Flame > Volcanic Viper then Tatakiotoshi.
hcf+H > hcf+H > hcf + H > hcb, f+H > qcb, qcb+S > dp+H > qcf+P > dp+H > qcb+K
Then there is a simple Grand Viper > Roman Cancel in air > Hard Slash > Volcanic Viper > Tatakiotoshi
qcb+S > RC > H > dp+H > qcb+K

Though I can't offer much in 3s, as EX3 was more of my game (as generally despise in the public opinion that it is)

Aight, I am going to try and learn this damn game. I will try and learn I-no and Millia because they seem the most interesting to me. Does any one know any really good sites for good info on the game?? I will post what I learn when I learn it.To2fPic wrote:So i take it not alot of ppl like Guilty Gear huh?

As much fun as learning the big man would be, I would rather not.Artezul wrote:Potemkin!!1!

Darken, this seems to be your game, if you could help with how the fighting engine works in detail, I would appreciate it man. Hope to be able to hold my own on this game, and not use the same scrub combos I have been working with.
I know there are some weird things in this game like using forward punch or just standing punch as anti air. If any one can chime in, that would be great.
That he did, I did not get a chance to play him though. Even though he would have destroyed me, I still would have liked to play against him. Oh well, as ya do, I thought I did well.Tempest wrote:I wish I was at the Mayn Event this year (the big annual gaming competition in the Michigan area), from what Ayanami told me, Ricky Ortiz went there and PWNED everyone in like every game: CvS2, SF3, and Tekken 5
time for some t5 talking.. my bryan fury list...
my favorite- df+3,uf+3,d3,2,d3,2,ff+2 this one takes practice on landing that ff+2
3,3,2 ff+4 this one can be easily be seen by anyone
df+3 3,3,4 simple one for some quick punishment.
b+2,1,uf+3, d+3,2,d+3,2,ff+3 the second d+3,2 doesnt land for me all the time.. so i just do one of those.
its been awhile since ive played this game so i need to remember my juggles, but every now and then when the opponent is on the ground i do a bb+4 just to add some extra dmg or to finish off that last bit of health. yes it does hit if they are laying on the ground.
edit found some more
b+1,3,3,4 simple though you have to find the opening to get that b+1 in there
b+1,3,3,2, bb+3 theres my bb+3 i guess it can go agaisnt me since fury will also be on the ground but if there is that chance of getting the ko ill do the bb+3.
well thats all i can think of for the Bryan Fury list.. i played bruce a bit, so ill see what i got with him. my paul was meh but he had some nasty juggles. if people start given some info back ill post some more.
