your atypical berserk thread about newbies

Heh, I wouldn't mind new people. But I'm comfortable and content with the posters we have now. I have some fears and paranoa that with more posters, it'll disrupt the very fabric of this forum which will cause it to spiral into neverending chaos. And then we'll have more noobs which will make us tear our hair. But more people's fine. As long as they offer me some entertainment.

I dont mind new people. And i dont mind if they make a fool of themselves in the begining. I know i did. But what i hate is people who make a couple of good posts and are still new but think they are the shit... Making demands and shit.

Well I tell you what guys. Make a list of ALL the topics not to talk about, then maybe you'll get fewer topics about certain things you don't want posted. But a person saying..."go ahead and jus lock, its another dumbass topic anyway" is someone who's trying to instigate something in the first place.

I just have to say...its usually the people who act like that that are the ones who are bullied and picked on in school and they feel that they should be punks in front of a computer.It's even more shameful if you're an adult. There are nice ways to go about solving and accomplishing things and then there are ways to bring more problems to yourself.

People who can't stand up for themselves during their daily lives and have to throw their weight around in front of a computer just so they can feel better about their life...to me, are just vermin. I don't care who your friends are on this board, how long you've been on here, or how much you think you know, you are nothing to me Dos. People who can't show respect deserve neither my anger nor my kindess. This has nothing to do with you locking my thread, because Eldo wanted the same thing, but he said it without being rude. It's the way you approached wanting to have it done that irked me. I won't acknowledge you and hopefully you won't acknowledge me from now on.

I have nothing against following this Forum's rules, but if you treat me or any new members that have not shown you disrespect rudely, you don't deserve the respect that you're asking to have on this forum.

And DarkenRahlX you throw out some decent points, but you fail miserably in the end. Especially when you sound angry in the post, but tell Dos you are not angry at him, when the post is directed at him. Also you are acknowledging him.

Either way I don't agree with you for the most part. Some of the people could be the assholes in the school too. I think you are the guy that is picked on in school and then come to the forum for an escape, but then get picked on here, and it pisses you off. If thats not the case sorry, and if it is sorry too. I am not trying to be mean. Just stating an observation.

My biggest thing though agianst what you say is that some people express things differently, some try and be kind, some don't care and just put things bluntly, if someone offends you just ignore him. Keep posting, just keep it intelligent. You have made some fine posts, so I am trashing you for that, I am jsut saying don't worry about the fact that you got burned a little. Dos may be blunt, but that is who he is. He can't change that. Let him do it, and learn from what you did wrong and improve. For the most part you are fine, and even that thread went on for some time, which is better then amny other ones that are even shorter, or stupider.

Also it would be impossible to list everything you shoudl not post, but that is kinda what we are doing here. Its more just don't post what has been said before, and don't post something pointless that does not contribute, and espeically don't post anything to piss off a mod or even a veteran unless of course you fall into one of those two categories, cause then its just fun.

On another note, that other thread went 4 pages too long. Oh wait it was 4 pages, well I guess you know my opinion on it.

heh, that observation about bullies really had me laughing a bit. I haven't been picked on in my life, since I'm about the same size as most of them. Most bullies tend to be jocks, while I'm quite geeky with mathematics, I usually lay the smack down on them in Rugby League. Does any one out there think I'm a bully? I consider myself one of the 'nice' and 'considerate' members around.

I am like Eldo. Played sports and stuff, and even somewhat fell into the jock category sometimes, but I have my geeky tendancies, and I have alot of them. And I try to think of myself as a nice guy as well. Though sometimes I may not be. I think I generally am. I do pick on people though, but all in good fun. I don't generally flame people though. I try to be nice. I generally answer peoples stupid questions. I don't know how many of the exact same IRC or torrent questions I have answered nicely.

Good term. I just get my weeding tools...

But like I said, even if this FAQ is made, some noobs won't read it, and they have 'flamebait' stamped on their foreheads. I guess you can minimise the casualties with this thread. But I fear all this effort will be wasted. So far, in the Mindwerks history, only 6 - 10 noobs got the smackdown. I may be wrong, I don't keep count.
