The Maxx kicks all sorts of ass.

It's so refreshing to see a show that deals with traumas and spirit worlds that isn't pretentious like Eva and most of the anime crap out there.

I have only seen a couple of Maxx episodes here and there. Is that on DVD?

Unfortunately not.

They're all on youtube, or you can just download the torrent (hint: isohunt).

I haven't been able to find one with good quality though.

Here's hoping for that DVD release.

I see, will have to watch a couple some time soon. I need to get my hands on the dvds for Triplets of Belleville and The Incredibles. (Finally saw The Incredibles, Pixar's best by far IMO.) I also want to grab the Aeon Flux dvds considering they are only 20 bones or something.

Ayanami, I thought you had Triplets? Did I miss something? I know I saw that DVD at your place once... wouldn't have heard it anywhere else.

Speakings of which, Ayanami or Tempest... you two have any interest in Fist of the North Star manga?

The Incredibles is amazing.

I watched Advent Children recently and it was a fucking joke in comparison. It's just a terrible, terrible movie, most inexpressive 3D animation ever.

Triplets is also pretty amazing, I should watch it again sometime.

My mother brought the Library's copy home for me to watch. And I am not interested in Fist of the North Star Manga. At all.

And yes, Incredibles kicks Advent Children's lame ass all over the place.

Advent Children wouldn't have been worse had it been shot exclusively in Uwe Boll's basement.

Or if I had pushed it out of my ass.

Terrible, terrible movie.

Where the fuck did Sephiroth come from?

I'll never know.

I bet BasouKazuma loved it.

Dudes !! Dont underestimate Uwe Boll !

I actually enjoyed Advent Children. It was eye candy. it had good moments at time...some nice fight sequences. I hated the shot where Cloud's friends throw him up to the stratosphere to kill that summon.

and the limit break in the air... I mean...how can he change direction up in the air ??? I n the game, this limit break was in a cave of some sort, so i was thinking he jumped around slashing sephiroth....

But in the air ???

I thought it was all exageratted. But eye candy and enjoyable if you turn your brain off.

Well I don'T mean to defend the movie. I'm not that much of a FF hardcore fan. I never even played a FF game to the end.

But it's not that bad. It's true that the story lacks content compared to FF7, that's why I say it's a no brainer. As for the visuals, if it didn't impress you, it still was not bad. there was cool details for sure.

It's just that hardcore fans put that movie on such a high level that everyone expect a perfect movie.

There was no eye candy in the movie. The animation was terrible (zero weight and zero expression) and the character models were boring and uninspired, I actually cringed in some of the shots.

A couple of cool things here and there (Vincent's cape in his first appearance and the way Cloud handled the gazillion swords), but those are the only good things I can think about that movie.

The story was absolute trash. A bunch of characters that show up for no reason + every concievable anime cliche (moaning asian girl, depressed main character, terrible dialogue, 10 minutes of explaining what's going on, etc, etc, etc) does not make a even decent movie.

People say "it's for the fans" or "it's eye candy" but that doesn't change the fact that the movie was abysmal and I had very low expectations to begin with.

If somebody says they liked it, chances are I'll probably lose a little bit of respect for him.

That is what killed it for me. The whole zero weight thing makes the fights unappealing to me. Obviously not thought out at all. Just a bunch of FF7 characters flying around like there are no laws of gravity in their world. And another thing, wasn't Cloud supposed to be done with the whole horrible depression bull shit?

And Sephiroth coming back was the lamest story gimmick I have ever seen.

Yeah I know that. I'm told so everytime I talk about movies. and yet , I like so many different things, it'd be a bit fast to judge my taste based on my liking of FF:AC.

What do YOU think would be good movies then ? in animation I mean ?

Unlike the heathen, I want all the FotNS you can get. I have been experiencing a serious lack of exploding heads in my life. :thumb:

As for Advent Children....well..... fuck it. Then again I say that about anything related to FFVII and anyone who tries to tell my it's the best RPG ever, let alone the best Final Fantasy. So... fuck it.

FotNS queued up. I'll have it once I'm home (Thursday) and hopefully organized by then.

Oh, and good job summoning Ayanami's brother with the FFVII rip.

HAhHAHAH. Just cuz he says he likes one movie, he 'most likely' has bad taste in movies.

That just doesnt make any sense what-so-ever. People have different tastes in film, my stubborn friend.

So the 7000/7800 people on IMDB that thought it was at least a decent movie must have no taste in film either?

Congratulations for making a bonehead statement. :P

How is that a bone head statement. If you like a really shitty movie for no good reason. Then I would say that you have a shitty taste in movies.
