Guardian Heroes, Albert Odyssey, Vagrant Story, these are games I would consider underrated.

One of the most underrated in my opinion is Star Ocean: the Second Story for the PS1. The game had so many good points to it. The battle system is awesome, always fast paced and exciting, and tons to do throughout the game, not to mention some 50 or so different endings, plus 3 different difficulty settings.

C'mon, remember the heiarchy of 3D Fighters:

"Those who cannot play Virtua Fighter 4 play Tekken 5, those who cannot play Tekken 5, play DOA 3, those who cannot play DOA 3, just sit there and try not to eat the controller, because you obviously have a mental disorder of some kind."

I'm saying Technical Skill-wise. You have to have the favor of the GODS to play VF4 really good, like tournament play and all. I personally like T5 better, but being really good at it doesn't take as much skill as being good in VF4.

anyway, if it is, I don't think it was that much underrated.

Ketheric said something about Heroes of Might and Magic 1 & 2
.... I mean wow, I thought I was the only one who ever played Heroes of Might and Magic (2 & 3).

Manhunt is quite underrated too, I played it, there isn't much storyline in it, but the gameplay is quite fun. Although it gets too much after a while.

I might get bashed for this one... however i must say it.... LUNAR SILVERSTAR STORY!!!

Gawd i love that game... I don't know why it's so appealing to me... it's such an orthodox RPG that it's actually fun to play.

And another one would be Lunar2: Eternal Blue. Man i love that game also... i hope i hope they come out with Lunar 3

I would say that Legacy of Kain: Defiance is underrated, granted the gameplay wasn't all that it should have been, the story more than made up for that.

Bah, Defiance's gameplay pWned. So much better than Blood Omen and Soul Reaver's, and with a good story (by LoK standards, which are high) to boot.

No, Albert Odyssey is an RPG and far superior to Abe's Odyssey, just not too many people know about it. Hence, underrated.

And personally, I think all of the Legacy of Kain games sucked that fat one except the first one.

Oh, and Manhunt blew, it blew hard. I think the Penny Arcade strip wraps it up quite well.

And Manhunt had a good storyline? Hm yeah, kill as many gangmembers as brutal as possible.

Manhunt never had a storyline lol. It was just good old gore tearing action. though it did remind me of Arnold's movie "The Running Man"

Manhunt was a good game as long as it lasted.
The LOK series went something like this:

Soul Reaver
Plot: Good
Gameplay: Good

Soul Reaver 2
Plot: Better
Gameplay: Not so good

Defiance
Plot: The Best
Gameplay: Sucked!

I played the first two games with joy but Defiance was a helluva swamp to cross. Me and my brother played it in turns 'cause we lost our nerves for the controlling of the characters. We just wanted to see how the story progressed and we weren't disappointed.

how about Hell Night for the PS1?
i have it on my comp now but ive never been compelled to play it after the first time... but i hear its pretty scary

youre a guy on a train that suddenly derails and you and another passenger have to make your way through the tunnel system to get out... the catch is some crazy ass monster escaped and is now stalking you and your comrade plus you have no weapons what so ever... all you can do is run... pretty good premise if ya ask me

You crazy man. Just reverse the gameplay rating along the list and you've got the correct results. :D

The Kings Quest Series was fun like many of the old click & play games.
