MrFelony wrote:come on...they accidentally found Griffith's most loyal members of the hawk on the way to the eclipse...that had to be Idea's work. and SK saved Rickert as well didnt he? (just posing that idea for people to think about) and im not saying that the other Band of the Hawk was sacrificed, just that it is way too damn coincidental to be an accident :?
Oh for sure. I won't disagree with this. Idea probably did have something to do with it. Oh, and yeah, SK did save Rickert. Anyway, my only point was to also enforce that those guys probably weren't part of the "sacrifice". We have nothing to prove this for sure, but I would guess that those who are to be sacrificed need to be nearby.

The sacrifice probably happens when you're on a high emotional pain. So, you ARE near the person who made you get there in the first place.

Let's take the count as an example. He was near his wife because it was her that made him crazy. Do you think he would see her naked with all other "cultists", then, after a week of suffering, sacrifice her? No, it was the moment of pain and passion, that called the sacrifice. The same with Griffith - all Hawks were there, then he felt extremely jealous of Caska and Guts, so, in the end, he chose to sacrifice them.

Geez, ain't Griffith a bastard? :D

no, he just got fucked in life. you cant really judge him because you havent been through what he (an imaginary character :kekeke:) has...

but yea i dont think anyone is really disagreeing on this...except for maybe the case of godhands where all "the bitches" get fucked up, but only the ones needed for sacrifice are there...

Crap, my post just disappeard. Ohh well, one more try then.

Your theory might stick here Khele, but how did it work with the Egg apostle then.. Did the corpses that "ran" into his cave count as his sacrifice in a symbolic matter or ??

I just loved the part with the egg apostle when you see the entire town with the brand on it...friekin sweet...especially since I was listeneing to the Berserken Soundtrack and "Murder" was right at the right moment to fit it perfectly! It's weird but no matter when I start reading, if I play the OST it ALWAYS synchs up perfectly!

Actually, that damn Egg apostle it's the most "exception of the rules" thing I ever saw :D

His sacrifice was his world, I think. That creepy thing is losing me, I gotta read everything again ;) Sad, oh sad me :D

I tried with the OST once or twice, but it never synched with what I was reading :P

Yeah maybe it was the world he was sacrificing.
However the sacrifice was (as we all know it)
postponed somehow.
Ohh by the way, how many km you think the town was that he sacrificed, might have the "Offering radius" mystery in there :D

Another thing is, the egg guy was never liked by anyone (or they didn't notice him) and he didn't like his life or the world. So how could he sacrifice something that wasn't precious to him?

The Egg apostle sacrificed himself, if I recall. He has the brand on him.

It's very easy to solve this problem:
You just have to play "Murder" in infinite loop!!

As I said before Dream Theater is also a band that fits for reading Berserk.

Opeth goes really well with Berserk too. Yeah, it's heavy metal.

Opeth = Swedish Death Metal band.
Dream Theater = Highly original Progressive Rock band.

I don't feel they go really well with Berserk, on average. The huge Apostle battles, maybe, but not normally. You need a more forboding tune to go along with everday life with Guts.

O wow, Opeth is playing in SF in October. I'm thinking I should go...

And as lame as it sounds I listen to some Drowning Pool and Dream Theatre too, but two of Josh Groban's songs (which are lite opera lol) go well when reading it...kinda like in the movie Metropolis where everything is blowing up but a slow song is playing in the background, its classic

If Opeth isn't foreboding, then I don't know what is. They're not typical death metal. They're etherical.

I've become interested in listening to this Opeth. Any recommendations for a good album to snatch?
