I dont think so, I heard the same that Ares had more than 17 volumes and that some people had read after v17 too. Someone talked about it in the Kmt forums too, but they used some old backup for their forums so the messages were lost.
And of course it is a raw...
Edit: Thats one of the reason why I didnt talk much about Ares ending at v17.
Edit2: I just checked back and I did mention the Ares series ending at v17 in the "Dangu and other Manhwas" page 7.

Yeah it would be interesting to know where it stopped or if it ever stopped. We are pretty short on any info except that some people have read above v17 and Silverado says up to at least v19.
We dont really know which company went bankrupt and we dont know if he ever stopped the series.
Is it the publishing company releasing the volumes(which most probably is), is it the company in which he was serializing the chapters or is it both of them.
It is most probably the publishing company, since if you lose your serializing company, you can do without it or just change.
If its the publishing company, maybe he just continued with the serializing. Or it would be interesting to know where(chapter) was the serializing when he stopped.

GREAT NEWS!!
One of the k-manga pmed me back this
"It's totally awesome, but we have news saying a different company picked up Ares. It has continued past v17, and is now on volume 19. Keep reading on-- it's no longer canceled ^^"
With what Silverado said about vol 19 this means its twice confirmed that Ares isnt canceled

Since Ares is a manwha the raws are supposed to be korean. I'll upload the raws in the next days/weeks, but before uploading I want to ask you something. Do you really want to spoil this awesome series? Since there is no other (faster) group then KMTS translating it, It might really be better if you just wait for kmts to release ther stuff. Otherwise you will spoil this (awesome) series forever.

You should just leave that choice to the readers, they can choose to spoil it or not if they want to. Distributing the raws leaves us the choice to choose, it can also help kmts if they dont have the raws yet or have suckier raws.
It can also give the chance to another group to scanlate it since kmts is not the fastest around lately, a little competition might speed things up which would be good for us readers.
Do release the raws for the love of scanlation

It's about a rogue alien with a personality dysfunction and an unsuspecting earth. It's done by Togashi, the guy who did Hunter x Hunter. It's quite a short series, with only three volumes, and each of those volumes feature different group's encounters with the alien. Once you develop an attachment with the characters, especially the alien's comrades, the story becomes hilarious. It's not really meant to be taken seriously, but even so it contains quite serious themes and ideas concerning the paranormal and the exterrestrial. A fun day's read.

That's a gratuitous post. There is no point in comparing both. I's is one of the best shoujo out there.
The main character is not goddamn annoying, show real character development (Manaka character development: 1 page: the time skip) and guts.
All the casted girls are meaningful to the story and are not trashed on the way.
A touching ending according to the story, not some random fanshit contest.
Can you elaborate?
Edit: I just realized you say you started reading it. You might consider finishing it.

I''s is nice on the eyes. It's been to long to remember what it was about.
I read 6 volumes of Rookies yesterday, god help me, it was so incredible... but for the first three volumes I wasn't sure whether or not I had already read it. Ah, bloody good one that is, though. Manga has the best idea when it comes to belligerent thugs, I haven't seen any other kind of artform handle them so well.
Libaax, they're at JJ. Direct download! Yeah, did you get up to the part in Hunter x Hunter when the gang was on Greed Island facing off against all those insects? The quality of animation was horrible. Terrible. Unforgivably bad (I did lose interest around then). I reckon that was when he was working on Level E. Because Level E is very well done.

I do like Rookies too, the scanlators are slow though.
Try MrFullswing if you like baseball even though its more comedy than baseball.
