Sorry if you've had to answer this before, but I didn't immediately see a thread announceing release dates (I lurked for awhile, and it just seemed like a new topic was posted whenever the new chapter was released). But why haven't there been any new chapters? Is Miura on vacation?

Unfortunately EG has no personal phone line to Miura, or they would have told us what's holding him. Maybe he's ill? Maybe he just wanted out of the cage? Who knows....

I check release dates from Young Animal's website, where Berserk is published, and also Berserk's official site hosted by Young Animal.

We have no idea why it isn't released, or when it will be.

If you go there, please hit that dwarf that makes all those pictures on the screen appear for me. One day he went mad and put nothing but snow on my tv, and I missed a crucial episode of X files.

But at the moment i just feel more addicted than ever

No, sorry, Berserk addiction (at least for the true fans, and not the whiners who think Berserk isn't any good anymore) is one of those truly horrible addictions, where if you don't get your fix, after awhile you start to go slowly more and more insane, until you ultimately descend into a terminal madness (for which there is no cure) and spend the rest of your life sitting in a padded room drooling and occasionally giggling.

Boy I hope the next chapter gets out before that happens to me.

Confirm. Got my first hard copy back in 1989, there really is no cure!

Maybe that explains why this topic goes this way

i hardly understand what it means "sitting in a padded room drooling", but i hope it won't happen to me :stupid:

(edit : i got the translation, it's softier than i thought ... the reality could be worse)

though Miura might already be confined in that kind of room by now, and it would be quite interesting to meet him

the padded room is a reference to being locked up in a mental institution with padded walls so you cant kill/hurt yourself by banging your head against the wall

Hmmm, I would have thought that, after prolonged exposure to Berserk, withrawal would result in bloody carnage and high death-count.

Oh, it does. But that's part of the "get steadily more and more insane" part, and comes before the descent into terminal madness. At that stage, you can still be saved if you get your Berserk fix soon enough. By the end, when the madness has become uncurable, a person isn't even rational enough for carnage, they're reduced to just sitting there drooling and giggling. It's a progressive madness, you see.

And then your sister can dress you up in robes and have pictures painted of you to sell to random nazis.

Sorry, Nietzsche reference.

You seem to have much knowledge about this dark dark subject, Istvan... Could it be that within Primordial Depths lies some power terrible enough that it twists the minds of the ones who try to control it? :o
If so, how come that you managed to harness it without suffering the fate of your predecessors?
Though I guess Gutts could do it, he does have experience fighting the inner darkness :)

Must get my Berserk fix soon, I am starting to rant :D

You know you're desperate for your next Berserk Fix when...
You Perma-fuck you brain on PCP and try to recreate the troll battle in a toys'r'us doll section.

There is indeed such a power, here in the Darkness. Only those who master it can claim to be a Lord of the Outer Darkness. All other dwellers in this place are slaves to those of us who dared to try to consume the Darkness, and make it part of us. As to harnessing it, that's purely a matter of will. Some are strong enough to consume the Darkness and make it part of them, and subordinate to their will. Others are too weak, and the Darkness consumes their mind.

Actually, it's the same strength of will that allows me to bind Darkness itself to me that is so far allowing me to withstand my Berserk cravings. Eventually, however, no matter how strong I am the Berserk withdrawel will draw me into the slow spiral of madness. That's why I really hope the next chapter comes out before it's too late.

Does that mean that you can bind to your will ANY creature of darkness?
How about seizing control of the Dark Horse creature, and telling it to issue english-Berserk more frequently?
Just a suggestion, to focus your powers from resisting B-madness to something else :P

Hey Istvan, have you ever played D&D? Specifically, Ravenloft setting. This conversation really reminds me of that...
