It's definetly a good game which warrants a playthrough- certainly the american version which'll be censored- or is Australia PAL territory? It's an awesome game, except for the graphics and some of the voices and the character controls and the later quarter of the game and some scene confusion and- I should just stop. It's a good game, but it's definetly not as revolutionary as it aspired to be.Eldo wrote:So it's awesome? I was thinking of getting it for the Xbox or PC.
The QTE-type sequences are awesome, though- but whatever you do, don't play the game on the easy difficulty setting. I think the difficulty options just affect the QTE sequences, and Normal is just right- it's challenging, and some parts later in the game would be down-right impossible had you not played the earlier parts of the game. It just really forces you to concentrate, eventually making your mind hardwire your eyes to your fingers, and you end up feeling like some sort of analogue-stick-wielding God once you realize how fast it's going at times.
It's a very rewarding experience- the learning curve is excellent, as just when you've fully mastered the QTE thing, it ramps up the difficulty a few notches, and then goes insane at the end of the game.
I dunno, maybe Shenmue just made me its QTE bitch back in the day...

What's with the lock loving Femto? Did someone like step on your foot today and we are feelign teh wrath? I can see how this one gets necroed a bit, but like I said with the other thread, it gives us a good idea about other peopl's taste in games, and what systems they have.
P.S. : SirAileron - Good call with FFIII. SNES for life.
Although, be politcally correct and call it FFVI like the rest of us fans do.

Fine. This one can stay too, though it bothers me more than the other one. There's no point to it really, you just come here, type "I'm playing X" and people comment a bit on it until the next "I'm playing X." It's pointless and it'll never end.
PS: For the record, I asked whether these thread should be locked or not. I didn't just go on a locking spree.

Yeah, I agree. Actually, reading what other people is playing gives me an direction and indication of what game I should play next. Come on, if you don't have threads like these, forum activity would decrease substancially.SirAileron wrote:This topic gives people a reason to post off-hand whatever's in their game system or what they're currently playing. You know, the good kind.
I'm thinking of getting Indigo Prophecy once it releases in Australia. Looks intriguing, if it's anything like the Blade Runner type of gameplay (that's one of my favourite games), it's a definite for me.

I just got Jump Super Stars for the DS. I like it. It's pretty much smash brothers only with Manga characters and awesome 2D sprites. Rather fun I must say.
P.S. - Tempest, get a god damn DS so we can play next time you are in teh DH. I will destroy you with Luffy.
Well, I just got Dawn of Sorrow for the DS and I must say it is teh r0x0rs. Must have for the DS and a damn good reason to pick one up if you are on the fence about it. The gameplay is tight, 2D gaming bliss, the sprites for a lot of the monsters are really good and the ones for Soma are awesome. Some of the enemies return from SoTN and look great. The backgrounds are just sick, great stuff. Also the map on the second screen is really conveniant. If you are any thing like me, you checked the map far too many times in Castlevania "insert here". You can also switch the map to a status screen telling what the weakness, drops, and rarity of soul of the current monster you are fighting (You have to kill the monster at least once of course) and it is one of those things that just make things easier for perfectionist like my self that have to get every weapon and soul in the game.
Simply awesome game.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeteeeeeeoooooos!!!
Seriously, this is a great game, which I have played since it came out in Japan. The thing is my big bro (whom we all recognize and love) left to germany, so I had to buy myself an amreican copy. My Meteos will destroy you all!
Mwa ha ha. :D
