Apparently Unreal Tournament III is out. Is anyone else gonna get it?

Yo, I got my own copy of Skate. So you guys need to get on there with me, and we'll tear it up! Anyway, if you see me on there playing it, just send me an invite, or however that works, and I'll try to do the same.

Skate makes me want to vomit as much as the ps3 does, only thing that will cause me to buy that system is a berserk coming out for it.

The moment I can stop vomiting over the XBox 360 is when I see a system with Linux running on it and a fan that isn't louder than a car.

I do wish the console had a nicer interface as well as better games, but it is a nice system. Skate's fun too, and I'll try playing it more now that the obsession with Halo 3 is over (it's more of a routine thing now haha).

What's so bad about Skate, FightClub?

Huh?

BTW....I recall Sony taking a stiff position, of not allowing porn to be filmed for the Blue-Ray.

Is this still the case, if so Sony needs to be careful.

If you recall when Beta and VHS were competing, because Beta was too hasty and pulled out (prematurely) from discussions with the porn industry, despite being an inferior product VHS was able to capitalize and establish their product to the masses through an erupting and rapidly growing porn industry. So by not succumbing and unable to cash in on this industrial jugglenut, Beta screwed themselves and wound up getting creamed by VHS in the end.

Haven't played UT3 (don't like such "fraggy" shooters) but Uncharted really is completely awesome.

Yeah, I'm playing Uncharted now, it is pretty damn awesome.

Oh, what's this? FightClub doesn't like Skate or PS3? Well damn, that MUST mean they're good. ;)

Uncharted reminds me of what the next generation T.R is supposed to be like. I heard the graphics and gameplay are very tight, and makes you feel like you're in a movie.

Yep, it's true. The controls are nice and tight, and at times it's pretty cinematic. I would definitely compare it to a next gen. T.R., only with a guy, of course.

The biggest difference, and what makes Uncharted so much cooller than Tomb Raider, IMHO, are the fights. In TR it was all about jumping around gunning wild in all directions. Uncharteds gunplay is much more akin to Gears of War with jumping from cover to cover, peaking out, gunning a few thungs and getting into cover again.

I totally agree Aether. In fact I laughed as I read that, for quick came the nostalgic memories of bounding about constantly as you fired at your foes in T.R. It was all about timing and aiming your acrobatic jumps, see. You wanted to stay on the move, away from your foe, but always within a clear firing sight. Heh, but yeah, it was kind of silly with the jumping and crazy Uzi shooting, when you think about it in hindsight. I prefer the more detailed and realistic approach that Uncharted took as well.

not blu-ray. (though i heard there already was blu-ray pr0n)

.avi, .mpeg, .wma, .qt list goes on.

PS3 can now play a majority of video files from the divx update. hence the ability to watch your d/led pr0n burned onto a dvd and then played through your ps3.

Yeah, right after I installed the new update, I went and watched some anime I had burned to a DVD, on my TV. That's just hotness.

No more encoding the files for like half a day until they are dvd-standard-complient so I can play them on my standalone dvd player? Hotness indeed!

Just finished Uncharted. And while the game was a bit short (like all games are today, played through it in 7 hours playtime) I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it, and I can't say that about many games. And the ending was a real ending, not some cliffhanger saying basically "Dude wait 2-3 years until the next game to see how the story ends!"

I should really get a few new games, but dang it COD4 is just too much fun to put aside.
The more I play the better I get in it.
Soon I shall have the M14.
My entire aim from the first moment I started playing online was the M14.
Soon I shall have it.
BTW regarding UT3 that game does not appeal to me either.
It is too fast and I just do not like the run and jump shooter games.
Graphics wise though it looks absolutely gorgeous and I have to say gives COD4 a run for its money.
Still COD4 is still the best game out there IMO for the PS3.

Well, I beat Uncharted. Too bad it wasn't longer.
I loved the fact that the gold was cursed and the Spanish colony had been turned into a horde of crazed freaks. Nice way to step the plot up, if you ask me. It definitely made the experience more intense. It's not the first time I've seen something like that, but I just wasn't expecting it. Not until we saw the strange foot-prints at least, then I knew something bad was coming. :P
Yeah. Uncharted (story + game) was really awesome. Hope they will put out a second game of that franchise, which would be probable because I think it really sold well, being PS3 exclusive and all.

And on COD4, yeah I love the multiplayer too. M14 would be sweet but I'm some long time away from it. Last thing I got was the G3 which is nice too, trying to get the ACOG for it now. But most of the time I run around with the M60 with Lasersight. Just too much fun and frag when throwing a flashbang into a room, and then just clear it with like 200 bullets :D

Just got my M14 an half hour ago. :D
Have it equipped with Red Dot Sight and vola.
Best assault rifle in COD4 IMO.

I just love the PS3. Just bought a 160gig standard laptop SATA harddrive, and have already put it in. No hassle at all. As I'm writing I am installing PSUbuntu Linux on a partition of it so I can finally surf the web and do all the geeky linux stuff from the comfort of my couch and/or bed on the fat HDTV instead of the 19" TFT in the desktop chair.

The only thing that sucked a bit that you only have 2 options to format the harddrive in the XMB: Allot 10gigs to the otherOS, or allot 10gigs to the PS3. While I would like a 50/50 split so I could load all kinds of movies/games and mp3s to the linux drive, I had to settle with the 10gigs for Linux, because 10gigs for the PS3 games just won't fit when one game usually takes up 2 gigs space.

Edit: PS3 firmware update 2.0 somhow changed/broke the wifi in linux. There is a kernel out which fixes it but only for Feisty Fawn but not for Gutsy Gibbon which I installed. So I'm downloading the Feisty install cd right now and will use that and hopefully get wifi to work then, because I just cannot be arsed to lay just another 10m cable around here.
Anyway besides wifi everything seemed to work fine in Ubuntu. MP3 and video playback was fine, the games which were installed with Ubuntu ran too. But what is Linux without internet? /afk installing

On another note: Tried a few multiplayer skate games today again. I so suck at that game :(
The only thing I can do are pop shove its and kick/heelflips, all the other tricks just happen by coincidence...
