I have officially lost faith in Famitsu now that they have given FF12 a perfect score. Is it possible that the game has changed in the short time from demo to full game that it went from shit to perfection?

Famitsu gave Nintendogs a 40/40.

That speaks volumes about their shitty taste.

Has anyone read the Famitsu Reader's Top 100 Games of all Time?

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?optio ... temid=2%22

It's a fucking joke.

Jesus Fuck H Christ, Final Fantasy 10, number 1?

Japan is officially on crack. Lots and lots of crack.

And I thought DQ always sold more than FF?

A lot of people forget that the general japanese population is just as retarded as the general american population, only for different reasons.

FFVIII, IX and X above VI? No Mario 64? Sakura Taisen at 13?

That list is fucking retarded.

Maybe it has a great story I don't know. But Tactics and Vagrent story(also got a perfect) are two of my favorite games and matsuno was involved with them so i don't know what to say.

Great story does not make a great game. And unless something miraculous happened between demo and final product the game was no way near perfection in gameplay standards.

I have dismissed Famitsu as corporate whores.

I'll never take that publication seriously ever again, the list was retarded and giving top marks to FFXII is a goddamn crime.

i have never took them seriuosly since a digimon world game scored higher then god of war in the same month. the voting was from the japanese gaming public sooooo just don't trust the japanese gaming scene period.

Now about the FFXII score. It's japan, they liked xenosaga(why?) and .hack(nice story) nuff said

I just started playing a game that's out in a shareware demo, and I just had to ask if anyone else has ever played it? Mount & Blade.

It's basically a project still in it's beta phases that's made by a 2 person group (husband and wife). It's got some of the best mounted combat that I've ever seen in an RPG of the like. The controls are still a bit blocky, and there's still a lot to be added, but it's a damn fun game.

It allows you to play up to level 6 for free, and then after that you are required to buy a key for 17.17? CAD (14.00 USD for those in America). However you can always fudge the offline serial key. But hopefully there's some people out there as well who would like to support this project and look into it a bit.

I downloaded the game one day when i was a little tired from WOW, the fights mechanics are kinda weird and the graphics are also a little ugly but it´s really a fun game, i played in the arena for 3 hours straight.

OK, we finally have an announcement of SOME sort on the PS3.
The Magic-Box wrote:- SCE president Ken Kutagari announced that the PlayStation 3 launch will be delayed to November 2006, due to Blu-Ray spec finalization, mainly for copyright protection. The PS3 will launch in November 2006 worldwide, before Thanksgiving in all territories. Sony plans to produce at least one million units of PS3 each month, and the goal is to ship 6 million units worldwide by the end of March 2007.

- PlayStaton 3 will launch with the new PlayStation Network Platform service, which offers online gaming services similar to Xbox Live. The new service will be "free".

- PlayStation 3 will have a built-in 60GB 2.5" hard drive, which will be preloaded with Linux operating system. The hard drive can be used as a home server, it will be fully upgradable. Kutaragi told software developers that every PS3 will have a hard drive installed, as it is mandatory. Sony has not decided whether the hard drive will be sold as a separate (mandatory) peripheral or bundled with the console.

- Sony confirmed that all PS3 games will be released only on Blu-Ray discs, as DVDs are too easy being duplicated. PS3 is still capable to play DVDs and CDs, and fully backward compatible with PS2 and PSone.

- Sony announced that the final PS3 development kits will be shipping out to production studios in June; currently more than 15 companies are development middleware and dev-tools for PS3.

As much as I like hearing actually "official" news from Sony itself, I know by no means is it iron-clad that such statements will come to pass. Even with this plethora of information, there are some writings on the wall, in my view, for trouble. I am a little disappointed by the November '06 (This makes a Microsoft Fanboy friend half right about such things, he predicted a push-back into 2007). I am a little leary about those quotations marks around "free". Last but certainly not least, the lack of any indication of a price is a bit unsettling to say the least.

Can only wait...

You forgot the info on the PSP. Where you can connect you PSP to the PS3 and d/l PSone games. RPG's on the go anyone?? Replay SotN on the PSP??? Vagrant story (maybe thats for me, since i never got a chance to finish it) IF the PSP can do that, Sony might rock the world.

and to make another note....

So, PS3 is still going to be able to support .avi files right? I sure hope so, because watching my pirated anime on my TV would kick ass! I mean, without having to take all that time to change the format to DVD.

Even more PS3 shtuff: We may be losing the Batarang.

Among other things, another Sony Q&A brought up the subject of the PS3 controller, mainly brought on by the fact that it was not diplayed with the PS3 on stage.
Harrison then said that "the PS3 controller will be revealed at E3." (Emphasis added.) Though he would not elaborate, his comments appear to imply that the PS3 controller has been redesigned, as some sites have reported. When asked for clarification, a Sony rep would only say, "To date the PS3 controller shown has been a prototype. I can confirm that Phil stated the final PS3 controller will be at E3."
Just go with what works guys. Please?
