Now thinking about it, while i would like that child to be of the CaskaxGuts relationship, more it seems it was a random orphan child, lost in the beach that it was use, by Miura, to get Caska and Guts slight closer to each other and to provoke Caska motherly instincts.
The problem with that theory is that the child seems to do something magically related to restore Guts sanity (or at least cause him to stop long enough for Schierke to do it) when the Berserk armor has caused him to loose control. A normal, ordinary child would presumably not be able to do this.

I find he's lack of common sense rather disturbing...

What can i say. It's the the power of paternal love.
Both of our theories have flaws and not trying to sound like a broken record and repeat what already been said about other "Berserk Mysteries" but "only Miura knows about it" (or at aleast i hope so!).

As far as the kid goes there will always be a ton of speculation because that's how he was written into the story. Lets see the pros for him being Guts' and Casca's son: he has black hair like them; he's about three years old, which the child would be if he were born naturally; he has long hair from no cutting it, which suggests that he as just growing for three years, at leas his body was; and he also helped Guts astally, which proves there's connection between them. As for cons: he came outta no where right before a battle; he dissappeared right after; the baby was eaten by that behelit monster then was used for Griffith's body. All in all, even the cons suggest that the baby's soul is the son of Casca and Guts, so in essence since the astral world is all about ideas and souls and all that then through deduction one can assume that he is in fact Guts' and Casca's son, even though the body may not genetically be their progeny because of its astral properties.

I also agree with Starnum on Thing_Likelife and his response to him, that's the only way to deal with idiots like that, especially on this forum. Also the newbs who just post a gigantic response and don't follow up suck too. You can just tell they're not going to do any more writing, that's why they put all of it down at once. This is discussion thread anyways, not put down everything you think thread.

What looks most exciting about the Berserk chapters to come is how old characters are being brought into play, like Sir Owen and R-something (I can never remember his name, its different in the anime). I can't wait for Rickert. Hopefully he's gotten taller. He would surely be an asset with both his blacksmithing and fighting skills.

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I downloaded the latest torrents and posted here. I'll try to fix that, though; I've got some new fan art to share (however minor).

I've gotten the last few chapters I've missed since the beginning of the summer, except for 292. Seeing as how I really don't want to search through 11 pages of posts to see if it's been addressed or not, I'm going to go ahead and ask: was the torrent for 292 removed? The link won't work for me, but all the previous ones that I checked (288-291) work fine.

Some people have had that problem. You might want to try the IRC channel and download it from the bot.

Wow, Mystic must be in really bad shape. If you don't mind me asking, how is he sick? I ask because I'm concerned, not because the chapter isn't out yet.

The Flu. Hopefully he's starting to get over it though, I'd hate to think he's still really sick. Man, it's really been going around though. I've been staving it off as much as possible, but it seems like everyone is just trying to get me sick. I woke up with a sore throat and a cough today. I'm just going to try to ignore it though. :?

Good luck with that. But try not to ignore it to the point that you make it worse. :)

Ironically I believe that in the coming chapters, this child may serve a central role in restoring Casca's sanity as well.....One way or another.

IMO, as I'm sure others believe as well, the appearance of this child (or entity) will prove to play an important role in the proceeding chapters with Guts and co., as opposed to being some random character to appear once in some chapter never to be heard from again. Rest assured Miura has held true to a formula, that though he often leaves the reader with more questions than answers, leading to much speculation at times, these questions (and their relevance to the story) won't be left unresolved throughout the course of the storyline.

I am a firm believer that Miura has planned well in advance (perhaps even at day 1) where he plans on taking the story. And wouldn't be surprised if he had years worth of material already mapped out in his head, possibly leading all the way to its conclusion. And there is no doubt that in regards towards its conclusion, Miura has a very precise vision for how things will all play out in the end. Where at this point the only thing he needs to do is figure out a way to get us there, and like I said.....If he hasn't had already.

There are people out there that would suggest that Miura for some time now has been making stuff at this point in the story, even blaming his recent hiatus on writer's block. Which I seriously doubt considering the story of Berserk (more than any other story I can think) has centered on laying the groundwork for key moments in the story, well before these events ever come to play themselves out. Where the entire Golden Age (12 Volumes....almost a decade worth of material) was basically used as a setup leading up to the eclipse and Guts evolution into the Blackswordsmen.

The flu's hard if it's the real one and not just some kind of passer-by virus. A co-worker of mine was away from work because of the flu for almost a month, and just recently came back to work.
He shouldn't overburden himself.
