Take what Starnum said, then reverse it ... and you get this!
I don't think everyone died at the end of the game. The scene with Red XIII and his children was set 500 years in the future. In that amount of time any place can become covered with vegetation. Midgar was probably just abandoned cuz that's where Meteor directly hit (at least, i think that's where it hit). So if that's the case, the only thing that was changed was Midgar since it's still somewhat intact and occupied by humans from the watching the video clips.
I don't know about the whole lifestream coming from the humans thing. I'm pretty sure they were saying that Aeris was helping them somehow and i think they even talk about going to meet her at the end. Maybe they were gonna see her cuz they were gonna die .... I only played the game once, I'm gonna have to play it again before AC is released.
I'm almost positive that the Ultimate Weapon isn't in it. There's this new Bahamut, i think they're calling it Bahamut Sin.

Oh, Bahamut Sin eh? Well, that's cool...
Anyway, they DID all die. That's what the freakin creator himself said. He was surprised that people didn't get it, that's why he official came out and explained it in an interview I read, like, back when it first came out. Anyway, like you were saying, they were talking about going to see Aeris, b/c they died and returned to the Promise Land.
Anyway, no need to worry about it to much. The movie is going to rock!

I had to play seven again. I didn't want to. I had already beaten the game into oblivion. But the waiting gnaws at me. So I play and I wait.
And starnum I didn't know that is what happened at the end. Your explanation explained the ending shot for me. I was a little confused at only seeing red and his children(?) at the end. To bad squarenix didn't get the original creator to write them another story.
I need FF7 AC and I need Star Wars episode 3. mmmmm Vader.

This happens 2 years after the ending of Final Fantasy VII. The ending you see with RedXIII is 200 years later, so yes, everyone's dead. This is a valid sequel and makes sense. The only place that got annahilated in FFVII was Midgar.
Starnum: I think the interview you saw was of him telling everyone that the characters were dead because of the fact that it had been 200 years after the Meteor occurance. That's what he was talking about. Red XIII is still alive because his species ages differently than humans. In the game he is over 40 years old, but his tribe still considered him to be a "teenager."
All the key players that made FFVII are making FFVII: AC. I'm sure that this movie will stay true for the fans of the game. The only thing not logical about the movie is the fact the Rufus is alive somehow...that punk couldn't have escaped that blast.

Um, no. I know how to fucking read dude. He specifically said that everyone on the planet gave up their Life Force, unwilling of course, and it blocked Meteor. Then they returned to the Life Stream, hence, going to see Aeris and returning to The Promise Land. On top of that, I’ve already checked, the guy who wrote Final Fantasy VII had nothing to do with this movie. Anyway, let’s just forget it, b/c for some reason people always want to argue with me about this. Just go watch the ending and keep these things in mind, and you can tell. If anyone disagrees with me…no, the creator on this, then that fine. You can just live in your own delusional world where you decide what’s right and wrong, rather than accepting the facts *shrugs*.

Well, I'm pretty sure that they'll going to kill off some characters in the movie. Heh, probably to compensate for being alive after the ending
Damn depressing endings...I really didn't get it until Starnum told me. And I've watched it 3 times. But I didn't pay extra attention.
I've heard of the others, but I've never heard of Eternal Curse. It sounds like a hoax to begin with. Just like when they announced they were going to make a third installment to the Chrono series, dubbing the game, Chrono Crisis. Oh, how they destroyed my dream...

Not to bring this thread off-topic, but there are 3 games in the Chrono series. SNES: Chrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers and for the PSX: Chrono Cross.
Below is a link for the 4th one, aptly named crono crisis, which is a 3rd party development with RPG Maker.

For people who like fantastic remakes and total conversions, here is a Chrono Trigger remake using Unreal Tournament's engine. Yes it is in 3d. Yes it does look pretty.

note: I'm a huge fan of the chrono series. More so than FF.
I'm a little iffy about the movie. If it has plot, then I'm good. If it is like... "look what we can do, yes it will be in the PS3 when we remake FF7". Then I'll be super pissed. Has anyone else thought the creative side of square was lost when musical talent left, the creator of FF was bought out by Microsoft to help with their X-Box devision and Square joined with Enix?

There was this one scene where cloud was lying across the ground in the forest and vincent's cape flys over him quickly. It was from the trailer that starts off with the golden dna with clips in it.DarkenRahlX wrote:I hope we get to see Vincent in action in the movie, but I doubt it. I haven't seen anything in any of the trailers with him kickin any ass. I'm excited about seeing the Turks in action though; that's going to be awesome.

I'm waiting for them to get better pictures but there is more great news. Simultaneous release in North America and Japan. So the movie should be out on Sept. 13th NA and Sept. 14 JP.

Advent children official site is updated, meaningful bump
Advent Children Square-enix site
Take the survey I want a cloudy earring!
edit: New trailer released, seems to be the most action packed one yet. If i'm the only one excited about this I believe you all should just go watch Titanic.
edit: just a tech demo but won't be a remake, makes me sad.
