I'm pretty sure we released like, three chapters or something.

We need translators for the project. The fuckers I tried to recruit ran away with the raws.

They ran away the the raws and released them with another group? Or ran away and just so happened to have the raws?

The fuckers took the raws for themselves and ran. There's no other group working on Breaction (to my knowledge) so far anyway. They all promised me they'll work on it, but failed to deliver.

For some reason, I can't connect to the irc.irchighway.net server. Goddamn it.

Did you guys succeed in finding translators/ editors for this project?

I readed the first few chapters and I liked it, and a few posts back there was mentioned that this is a fighting manga with an actual ending.

Sad to say that no translators have come forward. Almost everyone in the staff can edit, it's just that not one person who said they would translated actually did.

Oh well, hopefully someone will be willing to do it someday.

Well, I'm sure if someone *hint oro, laik, evan hint* posts on the EG blog @ http://www.evil-genius.us/ that we are looking for translators, that I'm sure some people will find out about sooner or later via google (yes google hits *.mindwerks.net).

If I can find translators that doesn't steal the raws and disappear with them, I think that would be fucking nice.

you mis-understand. people just want access to the high-quality raws we have and keep them for themselves and not do anything in return. We still have them, but no translations.

As psi said, most people want raws for themselves. They have their own reasons. It's also hard to get a sample of their work if they have never worked on manga before, and plus, I'm desperate. They know enough Japanese to pass 'teh interview'.

Let me to tell you just a few of many of my unsuccessful recruiting stories...

1) Asked a friend to translate Breaction. Sent him the chapter raw, said it was too hard and gave up. Fair enough.

2) Asked a guy who wanted to sign on as a translator or proofreader for another group (yeah, I snatched him first). Gave him the raw on his word he would translate it. Two months later, when I inquired about the progress, he claimed he was nearly finished. Another 2 weeks later, he makes a ridiculous claim that his hard drive was blown up by aliens or something (actually, he said it was a hard drive failure which I thought was major bullshit; I was talking to him on IRC 30 minutes before the alleged hard drive failure asking about the translation, but he was dodging the subject. I thought it was rather suspicious how he could get his comp fixed up completely within the 30 minutes time frame). Also gave me a sob story about how his assignment was lost as well to add a hint to realism to his fib (that's how I interpreted it). My guess? Bastard stole the raw and ran for the woods.

3) This guy was sprouting Japanese on an IRC channel, so I asked him if he wants to translate. Said yes, took the raw, and disappeared off the face of the earth.

4) A more recent endeavor was another guy advertising that he was translator (also in real life as well) on an IRC channel, claiming he knew a multitude of languages which included Japanese, Chinese, German, French, etc, or something. This one seemed the most hopeful, he had his own IRC channel where he is aop in, where I can contact him and inquire on progress. The next day, I got on IRC and went to his channel, topic read 'BOOM, the founder is dead!'. I've lost all contact with him from then on. I hope he's not dead, though.

It's hard to get dedicated and reliable translators. I'm usually to lazy to do anything, so I KNOW.

Heh.

Actually, psi asked me if I wanted to update the website with the news. But I figured it would be best if the news grouped together with the newest berserk chapter that is due out tomorrow. Personally don't mind updating it now, but figured it would be far more efficient to announce it with the berserk chapter all at once. Anyway, one of the threads containing the annoucement of the release is in this forum, about one topic below this one, not particularly hard to spot, heh.

psi knows about my obsession with updating blogs :P
An attempt to make myself useful, really. :P

I've talked with the scanner, and unfortunately, he can't find the other volumes. Luckily, he hasn't given up.
