Yeah but he looked pretty pissed. If i am correct about his big ego as he should have for wanting to conquer the world and go against a God Hand. I think Guts and co are in trouble. Even though Guts can handle his monster and apostles his crew arent as strong as he.Istvan wrote:Yay!!! Thank you very much for a truly awesome chapter, EG. This one really rocked!
I half suspect that if he did, he'd actually be doing Guts a favor (albiet unknowingly) by helping Guts and Co. improve their skills, as well as giving the Dragon Slayer the chance to become even more powerful (I suspect that the sword gains a tiny degree of additional power every time it slices through a body high in astral energy). Who knows, maybe next time that they fight the Emperor, Guts sword will have become powerful enough that it won't just wound the S.O.B.I wonder what the Ganeshka will do now about Guts, maybe send more monster and sorcerers after him.

I think Sonia was talking talking about.Eldo wrote:I never knew that Zodd admired Guts. That's just so strange, an apostle such as Zodd admiring Guts. Perhaps Guts was everything that Zodd was not when he was human, and was something he aspired to be. Or maybe he admires Guts for opposing the God Hand.
She talks about the one who tore through his flesh and "the other one, the one you admire."
The first one is Guts (or his blade rather) but the other one is definitely Skull Knight, so I'm assuming he'll be showing up soon.
That prophecy shit was completely tacked on in the last minute anyway.
Yeah, didn't really read it properly. One of the bad things about it is that I don't get to properly sit down and read it like you guys. I also feel that the prophecy part was pasted on like a last minute job, but at least we got to see some little character development for Zodd, I guess.

Zodd is definitely a great character. He is an evil apostle that has a code of honor and draws pleasure from a fight. For me, it wasn't a surprise this revelation about his admiration to Guts. Come on, let's review their history:
- 1st encounter: Zodd was gladly surprised because he finally met someone worth of a fighting, someone who stroke him a "fatal blow" that made him finally got into bloodlust!
- 2nd encounter: Zodd helps Guts defeating Boscogne, because he didn't want Guts to lose by chance. He wanted to meet and fight Guts once again. He sensed Guts would be the one being capable of pushing Zodd to his so desired bloodlust, and yet sustain the fight to a non-predictable end.
- 3rd encounter: The great fight on the hills, standing between Guts and Griffith, Zodd tested Guts. For me, it was there that Zodd's respect and hope grew up to an admiration. Standing in front of him was a man capable of surviving the Eclipse, one guy with a Will great enough to go beyond his fragile human body and grasp his own Destiny, defying the most powerful of the most powerful apostles: The God Hand
Yeah... this revelation wasn't a surprise for me after all... Even though he hates Zodd, I think Guts also respects him to the point of trusting him.
Now let's see what comes next...
Cheers!

I'm pretty sure Sonia was talking about Guts though in her prophecy. I thought it was always fairly obvious that Zodd holds Guts in high regard. Skull Knight and Griffith seem to be the only other people he really respects, but I get the feeling Zodd is even more impressed with Guts, since he is still human. Pure speculation, maybe, but that's my gut feeling (no pun intended).
The other part of the prophecy even showed how similar Zodd and Guts are in psychology, especially pre-eclipse Guts. Both with animal insticts, both stuggling warriors. Makes me interested what Zodd's own backstory is, who he sacrificed, etc. I'm excited to see how the story moves forward now. I hope they finally get on that damned boat, lol.

Why should Griffith punish Zodd for this? He delivered a huge defeat to the Kushan Emperor, and allowed the Hawks to be the savior of the city (if the Emperor wasn't defeated, he'd have crushed the Hawks, which would have been really bad for the reputation of invincibility Griffith is trying to build for himself). So he had to cooperate with Guts to accomplish this. So what? Griffith (indeed all the God's Hand) have made it very clear that they don't consider Guts a threat, so its not like he'll get in trouble for "collaborating with the enemy" or anything. What I'm afraid of now is that that little stunt was fatal to Zodd.
Or if you're talking about the Emperor's lightning doing him in, that would seem massively anti-climatic. Also, I can't see Guts surviving the hit, but it being fatal to Zodd. Apostles are supposed to be able to take far more damage then humans, and Zodd has awesome regenerative abilities. Last, if he died he should revert to "human" form, and he still looked like a giant flying bat in the last picture as he was lying on the ground.

Yeah, I think the part about Zodd’s admiration was referring to Gatts as well. It makes sense to me. I think I know what Phoenix means about Zodd’s life being at stake. I mean, this would be a great chance for Gatts to stab him in the head or something. I wonder if he’ll pass up such a chance. I doubt Zodd is going to die anytime soon, but you never know. I couldn’t imagine Gatts consorting with apostles either, but I clearly miscalculated on that one. That’s why I hate to speculate. However, I thought it was handled very appropriately, great chapter.
What's stopping Guts from taking his head now? The fact that he crashed into the port like that shows that Zodd is pretty beat up from that fight with Ganishka. Seems like a great opprotunity for Guts to finish him off.Femto wrote:They won't off him just like that.Phoenix wrote:What I'm afraid of now is that that little stunt was fatal to Zodd.
Of course, that would suck a hard one if Zodd was killed now

Guts wasn't wearing a seat belt when he crashed, so I think he's going to be too fucked to kill Zodd, while Zodd has crazy regenerative apostle powers.

you all don't understand: Zodd is immortal,he can't be killed at all;
the legends say that he was killed many times but he always came back in the next fight.
If you cut his head,it wouldn't be enough,in my opinion;he can be weakened or beaten but I can't imagine him dying.
